Why would anyone want an "assistant" team manager? Now that we don't have "proper" tac subs, team managers are not exactly overworked anyway, are they? Very true, and let us remind ourselves of the last time Mr Lynch was an 'assistant' team manager. Lets also remind ourselves of Lynch's record with promotions. Belle Vue - Perrin Oxford - Wagstaff Reading - Posthlethwaite Anyone notice a pattern appearing here? Looks like Poole are fucked!! ;D

POOLE are anxiously awaiting the verdict on Karol Zabik's weekend X-ray to find out whether the Pole faces a spell on the sidelines. Zabik crashed in Heat 14 of the Pirates' Good Friday home win over Eastbourne and was immediately ruled out of the return fixture with wrist damage. He had movement in his wrist but that did not rule out the possibility of scaphoid damage - and Poole have a busy period ahead with Craven Shield matches against Swindon and then the start of the Elite League season. In addition, Zabik's Polish club Torun will be monitoring the situation as they are scheduled to begin their Extraleague campaign at home to Rzeszow on Sunday April 6. Poole promoter Matt Ford said: "Karol went to hospital but we believe he left without seeing a doctor because the queue was very long. "Karol is very nervous, because if it is a broken scaphoid, a rider would have movement in it. Karol can't put any pressure on it, and we are just hoping it is not a scaphoid break. "He was due to fly out of England so he can get treatment and hopefully have an X-ray taken over in Poland." From www.speedwayworld.tvSeems to contradict what's on Karol's website, unless this is out of date?

Believe the comments on Karol's website were a little premature...

That looks a little ominous, doesn't it? Torun are owned by Roman Krzysztof Karkosik, listed by Forbes magazine as the 557th richest man in the world (5th richest in Poland), with a net worth of $1.8 billion. Karkosik has invested heavily in Torun and I can't see him being impressed if he loses Zabik for the start of the season.

Well shit happens...he could as easily have got injured in Sweden as the UK. It's the risk of riding speedway. Besides, Holder looks like he's going to be a top scorer for them at reserve so he can't complain. Perhaps if they start getting arsey over Karol, Poole should withdraw Holder from their use - after all, Poole are the ones who've financed his development in Europe. Works both ways

Come on squirlie, did the cold haggle your brain on the Island on Saturday? I can see it now...... Matt Ford: Sorry Chris, but we're forbidding you to ride in Poland this year. Chris Holder: OK Matt, no worries, see you next Wednesday. We both know it simply won't happen, don't we?

Aye, but you know, it's these fantasies that keep us going in the cold light of British speedway don't you think? And as for Saturday, my God, I'm still thawing out my feet.

So with the new averages coming into effect, Bjarne takes back the number one spot for the Pirates.

That really is a remarkable average Holder has - fantastic debut season in the Elite League. Some people with Coventry avatars at the BSF guffawed when I said Holder would be pushing towards an 8.00 average this season. They're not guffawing now, are they? But he's exceeded even my expectations.

Worrying thing is Holder isn't the finished article yet either, he's going to get better & better & leave the likes of Woffinden & Bridget behind.
Can see him taking over the mantle of top Aussie from Crump in the next 2 years.
