14th and 18th? Tee hee, Mrs Miggins. Tee hee. That's what happens when you take Ron Dennis out of the McLaren equation - needs to get his backside back on the pitwall as soon as possible. Anyway, Mrs Miggins, it's 12th and 18th.

These safety car rules are an absolute joke. Justice prevails in the end though, with Kubica and Vettel ending up in an even worse position than they deserved

What a debut for Brawn GP!! Great to see the absolute delight of the team afterwards - Ross Brawn is a genius, while Button now has the chance to prove what we've known for years - that he's a bloody great driver. Flawless tactics from McLaren to take Hamilton from 18th on the grid to 4th, with Hamilton showing that he enjoys being out there racing. EDIT: And I shouldn't forget Trulli either, great drive through the field to 3rd place. Disaster for Ferrari, who finished completely out of the points. ;D

McLaren were just lucky the safety car came out when it did, clearly they were in a no-lose situation, and took a gamble on the soft tyres early, it paid off, but anyone in their position would have done the same.

Hatcham - as the safety car was deployed three times in 2008, I would say it was a calculated gamble as opposed to plain lucky. Ferrari took the same calcuated gamble, but due to a mechanical failure for Massa and a moment of stupidity from Raikkonen, were unable to take advantage. I don't like the safety car either, but it's here to stay. Senna was bitterly opposed to it after it was brought in 1994, and was campaigning for it to be abolished. Unfortunately, Senna was killed in the third race of that season at Imola (ironcially shortly after the safety car went back into the pits) and F1 was left without a senior driver for a while, so there was no-one to speak up against it and it's stayed ever since.

He certainly is, my brother and I have always argued about how good Button is, and just now he has admitted that I was right (which he hated doing ) ;D Great result, which could yet change as FIA Stewards are looking at who should be 3rd, and of course we have the diffusers appeal.

Seems the layers agree with Mimi and Genghis, and have installed Button as a best priced 3/1 to win the championship

I don't like the safety car either, but it's here to stay. What's the alternative though? If there's an accident or debris on the track, the workers need protection whilst it's being cleared. Marshals shouldn't have to risk bring killed as they were in 'good old days'. The only alternative would be to red flag the race, as drivers aren't going to slow down under the old yellow flag system.

There were only a couple of bits of debris on the track, it could have all been cleared within a lap or two, and how ridiculously unfair to let the 'India - Kingfisher' car pass both Button and the safety car, leaving Vettel right on Buttons tail.

Hamilton promoted to 3rd, after Trulli given a 25-second penalty for passing under yellow flags. However, Toyota are appealing It's going to be a long season, if the protesting and appealing from this GP are anything to go by. Also, Vettel has been given a 10-place grid penalty for causing the crash with Kubica. news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/motorsport/formula_one/7970488.stmIf this result stands than it is even better than before and gives Mercedes-Benz a 1,2,3.

Tee hee, Mrs Miggins. Tee hee. Are you still tee heeing, Mrs Miggins? Anyway, caught the highlights on the BBC on-line and wondered whether Barrichello thought it was a "demolition derby" as he was banging into everyone he could.
