When does the Doolan dispensation run out? Or is everyone hoping that people will have forgotten about it and so let it run and run like Coronation Street?

When does the Doolan dispensation run out? Or is everyone hoping that people will have forgotten about it and so let it run and run like Coronation Street? I believe it has already expired, and that his appearance at Swindon on Thursday was as a guest.

Correct Kev. The dispensation to use Doolan as a No.8 has expired and as soon as it did we were given dispensation to use a guest facility for a further 28 days. I think that probably has about 18-20 days to run.
We seem to have an infatuation with using Doolan and Lyons. Why? If it's ex BV riders you're after then there is one currently sitting atop the World Championship leaderboard. I'm certain that the right deal would tempt Crump back for the final couple, and in Belle Vue's case it will be a couple, of months.
There doesn't seem to be any signing in the offing so christ knows what we're going to do once this 28 day guest facility expires and we're left with a 5 man team.

This news is a couple of days old, but still may be relevant to some. From www.manchestereveningnews.co.ukCHARLIE Gjedde, the Belle Vue captain forced to bring a premature end to his season a month ago, has had a successful operation in Denmark to pin tendons in his shoulder.
Now he is in a race to be fit for the start of the 2010 season next March as he faces six to nine months in rehab to regain full fitness.
Gjedde had tried to ride with the injury but a bad night at his former club, Swindon, persuaded him he was doing neither himself nor the Aces any good by continuing.
He said: "The operation went well. I had three tendons put together again and my shoulder will be bandaged up for six weeks.
"But I will be able to start to do some training in a fortnight and I am looking forward to being able to do that.
"I will probably practise two or three days a week when I can so I should be really fit and ready when next season starts."
Aces' chief David Gordon, who signed Gjedde on a full transfer after a season on loan, said: "It is good news that he will be ready for the start of next season because we knew it was going to be a long job.
"It would have made such a difference to have had him fully fit and scoring the points we expected from him this season.
"He tried to ride with the injury but it didn't work."
Meanwhile, Gjedde's fellow Dane Ulrich Ostergaard, who broke his right knee cap at Coventry last Friday, isn't writing off the chance of riding again this season.
Ostergaard, who also suffered ligament damage, said: "My knee is black and blue and very painful.
"I hope I can get some treatment when it is not so swollen. I want to be back in action sooner rather than later."

Hougaard's had a tumble in Sweden. He came out in his next heat, but then didn't ride again for the rest of the meeting.

BELLE Vue have been rocked by a new injury blow with recent Czech signing, Lubos Tomicek, being ruled out for the rest of the season. He broke his left collarbone in two places and suffered rib injuries in a jarring fall during Monday's Elite League victory over Peterborough at Kirkmanshulme Lane. Tomicek, showing signs of improved form in only his fourth match for the club, slid into safety fence and the damage was caused by Kevin Doolan's bike which followed him in. He has gone home to consult a specialist and is expecting to have an operation to speed up his recovery. Tomicek said: “I have broken my collarbone in two places and damaged a few ribs. I am sorry I haven't been a better signing and didn't help the team out. I hope to come back better next year.” Morton replied: “I am sorry for Lubos that he has been injured just when his form was starting to improve.” The loss of Tomicek adds him to the One51 Aces' growing list of long-term injuries as they have already lost Charlie Gjedde and Billy Forsberg until next year while Ulrich Ostergaard is expected to recover from his broken knee cap before the end of the season. The blow of losing Tomicek has been magnified by the fact that Polish rider Tomasz Jedrzejak, a Belle Vue asset, offered to join the club for the rest of the season but it came after the transfer deadline of August 31. The club had made several efforts to bring him over this season but he always refused because he wanted to concentrate on his commitments in the Polish and Swedish leagues. The Aces management were prepared to take him on board, despite his earlier refusals, in the hope it would encourage him to come back for the 2010 season. They made an appeal to the Promoters' Association management committee for special dispensation to sign him but it was refused. Team boss Chris Morton said: “We would have taken Tomasz for our last few matches because he has said he wants to ride in England and Poland next year. But it all happened too late.
Official Press Release Richard Frost
Sorry, but I think that actually makes them stonger, with R/R for Tomicek.
