Billy Forsberg is back....... Billy Forsberg, Belle Vue's top young Swede, makes a delayed start to his Elite League campaign next Monday when he returns to action in the home match against champions Poole at Kirkmanshulme Lane (7 30).
Henning Bager, signed as a short-term replacement when Forsberg broke a wrist in pre-season training, has been released by the One51 Aces to make way for him.
Further details www.bellevuespeedway.orgShame to see Henning go. He's been a more than adequate replacement for 'The Kid'. I really hope Henning gets a team berth soon as riders like him make British Speedway what it is.

Any followers of (IMHO) dull BBC drama Waterloo Road will have noticed an advertising poster for Belle Vue Speedway on tonights episode. Only snag was it appeared to be in the Girls Changing Rooms/Toilets.
I think we'll have to credit that to Jason Done (one of the Actors, don't know which character) who's at Belle Vue most Mondays.

Here's an interesting snippet tucked away in the match reports section of the BSPA site.......
Skipper Leigh Lanham successfully came through a practise session after the meeting and will be named in the side that travel down to Eastbourne on Saturday. Once again Ipswich were well served by stand in replacement Morten Risager who now moves on permanent loan from Swindon to Belle Vue for the rest of the season.

Perhaps that's so Fat Maud doesn't try and sign him . Actually am really sorry to see him leave, he may have started slowly but he's really given his all in the last couple of meetings, and has done a decent job for us, especially last night.

It seems that, according to the Daily Mirror, Chris Morton has lashed out at Belle Vue's misfiring stars: Misfiring stars are a 'disgrace'
Belle Vue boss Chris Morton has branded star signings Krzysztof Kasprzak and Charlie Gjedde as "disgraceful".
The pair scored only five points between them in a 46-44 home defeat to Peterborough..Taken from tapesup's excellent "Speedway news reports" at: www.monarchs-chatzone.co.uk

Josh Grajczonek isn't it? Yes, although he is, of course, out of action for 4-6 weeks with a broken ankle.

BELLE Vue could have a new signing in their side for Monday’s Knockout Cup clash with Poole at Kirkmanshulme Lane.
The Aces have injury concerns over Billy Forsberg and Ulrich Ostergaard and manager Chris Morton admits the club are looking at potential recruits.
He said: “This is a very important match for us and we have been looking at our options for making a new signing, either on a short-term or longer basis.”

I think Monday will be a turn up and see who's riding kind of affair. It won't be a superstar signing. It'll either be someone to replace Forsberg or a new Number 8.

taken from www.bellevuespeedway.org - BELLE Vue's Danish rider Ulrich Ostergaard has pronounced himself 100 per fit to return after a hand injury for Monday's KO Cup quarter-final first leg tie at home to Poole.
He practised on Saturday and said: "I'm 100 per cent ready."
The One51 Aces have reached an agreement to sign a new rider and submitted a revised team for approval by the Promoters' Association on Friday, inside the 72-hour deadline for implementing the change against Poole.
But they are still waiting for ratification from the BSPA and, as a consequence, cannot reveal his name.

According to sources close to the club, mentioning no names *cough*RobB*splutter* it's an Aussie but it's not Ryan Sullivan and it's not who we expect it to be. And what a crap press release. To say we've redeclared the 1-7 but we're not going to say who with is utterly pointless. The speedway world knew Nicholls and Andersen would be at Coventry and Poole respectively before those teams were redeclared so why should we be any different.............and surely the BSPA aren't going to veto it as 'not in the best interest of the sport'..................are they? ?
