Well........the silence from Kirky Lane is deafening. There is talk of a fans forum in December but I can't see this happening as the promotion won't want to hire the stadium out in December and then again in Janury once they've sorted the team out. With Crump gone this gives us a chance to build a more balanced side....hopefully.
1...Kasprzak 2...Gjedde 3...Ostergaard 4...Wright 5...Forsberg 6...Boxall/Jonasson 7...Hougaard 8...Grajczonek

From www.speedwayworld.tvBELLE Vue are again being linked with a move for their club asset Tomasz Jedrzejak for the 2009 Elite League season. Jedrzejak rode for the club in the early stages of his career when the Aces were under the control of former promoter John Perrin. He then spent several years away from the Elite League before returning in the closing stages of the last campaign as he stepped into the injury-hit Lakeside squad, and made a good impression. But Aces promoter David Gordon says Jedrzejak had already been back on their radar, only for his average to be deemed too high to replace the injured Lukasz Jankowski. The Manchester club will be building a team based more around strength-in-depth in 2009 after Jason Crump ruled himself out of their plans. Gordon said: "Tomasz is another Belle Vue asset who hasn't been riding for us, but we spoke to him before agreeing to the Lakeside move and he said he'd like to come back to Belle Vue. "Lukasz had a four-point average and Tomasz was on an assessed figure of five. We asked the BSPA if it could be re-assessed down to four because he hadn't ridden over here for four years, but our request was turned down. "We have spent a lot of time creating options for next season, so we will have plenty of potential teams to pick from once the points limit is confirmed."

I wonder where Belle Vue get the "assessed figure of five" from, since Jedrzejak rode on a 5.71 average for the Hammers.

They probably got it from the same source who told them Charlie Gjedde would make a great number 1 in 2009...

But will Gjedde be the No 1, or are Peter Oakes inspired rumours of Krzysztof Kasprzak joining the Aces true?

It is certainly true that BV asked permission of Poole to talk to KK

Fair play to Belle Vue for signing him, he's a rider I'd have loved to see spearheading the Hammers this year, but clearly that's not now to be.

Belle Vue have announced 6 of their 2009 side tonight. They are as follows:
Krysztof Kasprzak (8.68) Charlie Gjedde (7.86) (Captain) Ulrich Ostergaard (5.17) Billy Forsberg (4.80) Patrick Hougaard (4.00) Steve Boxall (3.63)
This leaves 5.76 for our final rider which would rule out a return for Joe Screen and Simon Stead. Kasprzak, Gjedde and Boxall were all present at the Fans Forum.

The final rider won't be announced for a while as they are keeping their options open...but don't be surprised to see the name Jedrzejak on the Aces team sheet.

Big let down signing Wright as seventh rider. The other 6 had the makings of a reasonable side. Jedrzejak a big loss.

Hardly a forward move for either party. Wright may do okay at Kirkmanshulme Lane, but that'll hardly aid his progress. He'll be back in the Premier League shortly.

Though I'm a fan of Wrighty (and live just down the road from him) I don't the move to BV suits either party. Wrighty has never got to grips with the Kirky Lane track and his 4 visits (2 with Swindon, 1 as a guest for us and 1 in the 80th Anniversary Meeting) didn't prove fruitful. If he gets his nose in front he's hard to pass but that doesn't happen very often. It also means we go into the season with Ostergaard as third heat leader. Sure, he was great in the PL in 2008 but there is still a gap (which is shrinking year on year) between the top end of the PL and the top end of the EL.
With that line up now confirmed I predict a 7th place finish for the Aces.
