From comments that Alonso isn't talking to him made by Lewis after the race it looks like there are troubled times ahead for Ron Dennis. Rumours abound that Alonso may seek early release from his current (3 year?) contract with McLaren.
The feud this weekend seems to be both their faults - Lewis refused to obey team orders to let Alonso past at the start of qualifying as part of a pre-arranged strategy, and Alonso apparently deliberately held him up in qualifying.
This is a bit like the Bjarne Pedersen situation, but with two of the world's best drivers on his payroll Ron with be loathe to lose either of them, though I can't see the problem being resolved easily. Alonso is stubborn and sulky, and Hamilton is determined to win. Something's got to give.

Watched the highlights late last night after returning from a trip to the Medway Hospital to check on the condition of Andrew Bargh (busted ankle).
Not the most eventful race, but after qualifying, it didn't need to be!!
It's certainly going to be an electric climax to the season, especially if Alonso is on his way out from McLaren.
Is the Japanese GP the penultimate round of the season again this season? McLaren team-mates have been known to have a "group hug" on the chicane in previous years ;D
All the best Rob

And following on from the weekend's weirdness, my radio station are now reporting that Alonso has basically said the team ain't big enough for the both of us, and is widely expected to leave McLaren at the end of the season, with Big Ron holding the door open for him.
Awwww diddums, is ickle Fernando finding the competition to hot?

And further to that, Renault have now stopped talks with Fisichella for next year on hearing this news. Ferrari are rumoured to have their line-up sorted, and anywhere else would be a disaster for Alonso.

Awwww diddums, is ickle Fernando finding the competition to hot? That's exactly it - Two times world champion expected everyone to do his bidding , like what Schumacher had at Ferrari . McLaren dont work that way ( god bless them ) so BMW or a return home to Renault will be his likely 2008 destination .

I would have to say, I think Ferrari would be mad not to have a rethink in that case, surely Alonso would be a better bet than either of their current drivers?

Yeah, wouldn't it be fun to have Alonso and Massa together?!
Edit: just been updating the standings as it seems McLaren aren't going to appeal and BMW are in third place above Renault. So maybe not such a bad bet after all?
2nd edit: and I did say I don't think Raikkonen will be around for much longer?

How do you fancy Kimi back to McLaren (so he can take his turn at being pissed over by Lewis ;D), Alonso to Ferrari with Massa as a respectful and dedicated number 2?

Alonso to Ferrari with Massa as a respectful and dedicated number 2? After all the poking and swearing after the last race? Yeah, right. How about Raikkonen to retire (without smiling) and Schumacher to come out of retirement and show the kiddies how it's done?

It's a shame there isn't a 'sarky bastard' smiley, or I would've used it on my last post!
I could see Alonso going back to Renault, but who fills the other seat at McLaren?
Maybe Ron might want to take a chance and have a go with Kubica, he could do a lot worse.

Oh I know you're a sarky bastard , but wasn't sure if others would know what the heck we were on about. I took the Blue Peter approach. ;D Wurz and Heidfeld are doing an excellent job this year, but other events have ensured they've been kept out of the limelight. McLaren could be tempted to take back their old test driver maybe? And a driver I'd like to see in a better car (along with Kubica) is Kovalainen. Just because he's cute.

So, we've retired Kimi and made Alonso take a step backwards, who's next for the chop? ;D
Actually, without sounding like a ravin patriot, I wouldn't mind seeing what Anthony Davidson could do in a better car, I quite like his style

Just found it on youtube, very impressive, it's not very long ago that he wouldn't have walked away from it and neither would some of the others involved. BTW, Franchitti was linked with a couple of F1 teams not so long ago, and then it all went quiet; he's a handy driver, I wonder what the story was. Danica Patrick's useful too, I wonder if any F1 teams have their eye on her.

Schumi, Surely Kimi is now performing within the Ferrari team... if I was in Ferrari's shoes, I would kick Massa into touch, and get on the blower to the cheating Spaniard... a line-up of Raikkonen and the moody Spaniard would be mouth-watering. As for the old cobbler, no, his time has passed. Remember last season he was outdriven by the bad-loser Spaniard, who in turn has been outdriven this season by Lewis. He retired at the right time - not only that, but since his retirement, we have been served the most intriguing F1 season for years. All the best Rob
