Rob Mear has signed as number 8. I don't think thats a bad signing to be fair although I have yet to see him ride. All things being well, I should get a good look at him on Thursday, has anybody seen much of him?

He's a very good prospect MD. He rides both large and small tracks well, is exciting to watch and has a big career ahead of him in the sport.
If you look back a few weeks, I actually posted that he was one of two riders I'd choose to be our number eight.

We had a days testing up at Rye House on Thursday so I thought he maybe riding then so I could have a look but alas he wasn't due to ride that day...

And you can see the "retro" kevlars the Hammers will be wearing this coming season over at the Lakeside website: www.lakesidehammers.com/So, even more cause for hatcham to call them West Ham and it looks as if Lakeside have some form of tie-in with Premiership club West Ham as well: All eyes were on the 2009 suit design, which is based upon a retro design paying homage to the Club’s links with the famous West Ham Speedway team, who raced out of Custom House before its closure in the early 70's for redevelopment.
Team Owner Stuart Douglas explained: "This year is the 80th Anniversary of League Speedway in this Country and we wanted to mark that with a retro design based on the kit of the West Ham team that were pioneers of League racing in 1929. We will also be doing some special promotions this year with West Ham United FC, and maybe these colours show the true heritage for a team they can support through the whole summer."

So, will Cookie be announcing a temporary replacement for the unfortunate Joonas Kylmakorpi? There wiil be a statement on Hammers' web site on Monday. Maybe, just maybe we'll be seeing 'The Return Of The Jedi'.

I cant see that Lakeside will bring a replacement in for JK, after tonight, they just have 1 home meeting to race in the next 3 weeks and JK could be back by then...

So, we've agreed terms with an, as yet, unnamed rider to come in as a temporary replacement for Joonas...........but we're awaiting 'start permission' to determine whether the change can be made within the 28 day time period to allow Joonas to return.......what the hell does that mean?

A few broken ribs shouldn't slow anyone down, doesn't even stop you winning a LRC.
