No confirmed signings as of yet but if Mort and Co. have an ounce of intelligence then Billy Forsberg and Kevin Doolan will be the first names in the team, Joe Screen will no doubt be back. As for the rest.....that is anyone's guess. 1. Jason Crump 2. Joe Screen 3. Billy Forsberg 4. Charlie Gjedde 5. Steve Boxall 6. 7.

What are Billy Forsberg and Antonio Lindback's GSAs? BSPA website is a bit confusing for mere mortals. Is Lindback really on 4.15, or does he stick on 7.94 for not riding 12 meetings?

Lindback will definately stay on 7.94 should he return. He was given the chance to ride his twelth meeting for Belle Vue at Kings Lynn (against Peterborough) which he declined. Had he ridden his GSA would have been circa 6.00 which may have tempted someone to take a chance on him. One Belle Vue official stated they have 'given up with him'. Billy Forsberg has also ridden in eleven meetings so his GSA will remain as it was when he first came over here. He achieved 5.31 without bonus points from his Belle Vue meetings.

Interesting that Forsberg averaged 5.31 in 11 meetings which is a shade under James Wright's averge which was gained over 25-30 meetings. Pains me to say this but maybe James isn't the great hope people are proclaiming him to be.

Belle Vue have put an offer to Kevin Doolan for 2008 and have also spoken to a Dane, rumours are it was Iversen, and have also spoke to 2 young English riders one of which was Joe Haines.
Apparantly the Dane will more than likely not come to BV as they don't like the track.
That's it so far for news from Belle Vue.

Taken from speedwayworld:
BELLE Vue have stated their optimism at recent developments in the Elite League as they seek to build a competitive team for 2008. A change in promotion at a relatively late stage last winter hampered efforts to track a competitive team for the Aces, as they lost Jason Crump and Kenneth Bjerre and most of their potential targets were already signed up elsewhere. It meant a spectacular decline at Kirkmanshulme Lane, after strong seasons in 2005 and 2006 in which the club had reached two Cup Finals, winning one, and finished as Elite League runners-up in 2005. Last season, they finished rock-bottom of the table. Promoter David Gordon has not been able to divulge any details on possible riders coming in to boost the Aces squad, but he has had talks with various targets. He said: "We are far happier now things are in place to encourage the view that speedway will be re-structured in a way which will mean clubs will be competing on a fair and level playing field. "When we took over there was nowhere to turn to in respect of finding top riders, but now we are heading for a new ball game. We will be in there with the rest, battling for riders and doing deals, and it's a nice feeling after the situation of a year ago."
hope this is correct and BV and Ipswich get the opportunity this season.

BELLE Vue promoter David Gordon has explained that he did not want to continue the club's loan arrangement with James Wright. The rising star has doubled-up with the Aces for the last two seasons but has now signed a full-time Elite League deal with Swindon, on loan from Premier League Birmingham. Gordon was interested in keeping Wright with the Manchester club but wanted to buy him outright from Brummies promoter Tony Mole. He said: "We would have been interested in buying James outright from his promoter Tony Mole but it reduced our interest when he said he didn't want to sell and that James was only available on loan. We were not keen on a loan agreement but it appears that Swindon are prepared to do that. "We have spoken to all of our 2007 team to get their thoughts about next season. We have met James twice and while we talked about money we had not offered him a deal. This is not a financial issue. "The fact that Tony Mole wouldn't give us an option to purchase was a big turn-off as far as James was concerned. He was no longer a priority but that doesn't mean we aren't disappointed because he has contributed over the last two seasons." Wright never actually rode for Birmingham, and in fact Mole was in charge of Belle Vue when he initially joined the club. He had also been racing under Mole's promotion at Workington, but Mole's sale of the Comets saw Wright's registration revert to Mole's other club, Birmingham. From www.speedwayworld.tv

Joe Screen will be roaring back to Belle Vue again after signing a new deal to return to his 'home' club. The 35-year-old Warrington-based star is the second name on the 2008 roster following best pal Jason Crump. www.bellevuespeedway.co.uk/main/FS_main.htm

Although not yet confirmed by the Aces Management Billy Forsbgerg will be riding for Belle Vue in 2008. We signed 2 riders a few weeks back, one being Joe Screen and the other Forsberg.
80th Anniversary meeting planned for 29th July. 2008 programme will be £2.50 which is an increase of 50p and admission has risen by a pound to £16 for adults. Full Colour and they are collectable as each one will depict a different front cover.
That's about it from Belle Vue recently.

80th Anniversary meeting planned for 29th July. I trust Peter Collins will be tempted to get his leg over for this?
