And then there were two: Lakeside and Poole. Will it be the Hammers or the Pirates who claim the Elite League title? Well, we'll be halfway to finding out after this meeting at the Arena Essex raceway. Lakeside looked a very good bet for the title a few short weeks ago, but a rash of injuries means it is probably going to be a patched up side that takes to the track. But there remains a lot of quality and in Andreas Jonsson they do possess the best rider out of the two teams. Poole have few concerns heading into the final, although their reserves are questionable, since Eriksson's early season form seems to have deserted him and Davidsson is starting to struggle a bit. But up in the main body of the team there are no problems. Let's hope for a couple of good meetings, starting with this one down by the side of the lake.

If not I reckon our Roo boy would do you the job, he had a good meeting on that excuse for a speedway track on Monday night.

Well, the build up continues with an argument over the average of Lakeside's new signing Tomasz Jedrzejak: will it be assessed at 5.00 or revert to his previous 2004 average plus the 5% weighting (5.71), which in turn means will he be at reserve or in the main body of the team? And now Lakeside have dismissed Lubos Tomicek, leading to fevered speculation that the Hammers are about to sign a "ringer". One thing appears certain, it's going to end in acrimony.

One thing appears certain, it's going to end in acrimony. In that case so be it............no rules have/will be broken and let's be honest.........can we say the same about the opposition over the last few years?

..........it's not a definate, but it's definately a maybe. As our beloved First Lady reports in the Lakeside section, it's a definite now. Gdansk's Krzysztof Jablonski will be in the Lakeside team for this meeting and the return meeting at Poole. And he'll be riding machinery provided by double world champion Jason Crump. Of course, due to potato-brained fascists I can't see the reaction at the BSF, but I'd imagine outraged of Dorset has plenty to say. I, personally, am not sure how Jablonski will get on with the Arena Essex raceway, but Poles usually do well at Wimborne Road, even when they're not mounted on Crump machinery.

Outraged of Dorset is happy with the signing. I guess he doesn't see him as a threat, but on Crump's bike, knowing the Poole set-ups, who knows?

Poles generally do well at Dorset and they can usually get out of the traps with the best of them. If Poole go for a "gate and go" track, they might find Jablonski gated and gone. I wonder if Crump will be in the pits?

Hauzinger is a disgrace. And I don't think you'd find too many people connected to Swindon disputing that, especially if you got them "off the record".
