Really dont know why people keep thinking any news is going to be released asap, thats not the BSPA way is it. Alternatively, maybe there is no news......do people really want to read Press Releases which actually say nothing. Another possibility is that the lawyers have agreed that nothing will be made public until everything is finalised. Why does everyone always assume the BSPA are wholly to blame? They are by no means perfect, but don't deserve to take the blame for everything....there are many sides in this battle. If Panthers do eventually line-up in the EL another rider available would be Artur Mroczka.

Agreed, the existence of a confidentiality agreement between all parties confirms thisWhy does everyone always assume the BSPA are wholly to blame? They are by no means perfect, but don't deserve to take the blame for everything....there are many sides in this battle. Not everyone assumes, I think its fair that all parties take some blame for the whole absurd affair but anyone with some knowledge of the sport and the BSPA will know whose really at fault here. If Panthers do eventually line-up in the EL another rider available would be Artur Mroczka.

Released as soon as possible , this mess has been drawn out since November for christs sake , surely they are either in or out end of. Whilst it doesn't directly affect my club this year, I'm assuming whilst they are otherwise engaged in sorting out this unholy mess, the rest of the clubs EL and PL have to wait with baited breath to know whether we will be running or not so yes I would quite like to know please, just a yes or no will suffice for now

Translated from www.aktuellspeedway.se/nyheter.php?subaction=showfull&id=1296732238&archive&start_from&ucat=0309According to Aktuellspeedway.se the BSPA today agreed with the clubs and Peterborough Panthers Coventry Bees and both teams will thus be ready for Elite League 2011th Already yesterday revealed Peterborough Trevor Swales for Peterborough Today the dispute between the Peterborough Panthers, Coventry Bees and BSPA may be over, and already this week, the law may be ready for the Elite League, according to the source, therefore the agreement to be grace and perhaps the biggest dispute in English speed gateways history will be over. Peterborough low profile should already be running and among them current drivers include Troy Batchelor and Swedish Linus Sundstrom. Although Coventry will be running with lagbygget, when the majority of last year's squad has already made it clear with new clubs are forced to team build from scratch still says that Edward Kennett will, which also is joined by Hans Andersen.

Still no news on Panthers future
Published on Fri Feb 04 10:47:45 GMT 2011
SPEEDWAY: It appears Panthers supporters must sweat over the future of the club for a little longer.
A statement had been predicted to arrive yesterday to confirm that both the city club and the reigning champions Coventry Bees were to dramatically return to the Elite League fold for 2011.
But no such confirmation was forthcoming and Panthers officials were remaining tight-lipped. Other sources in the sport suggested that some finer points of the deal still had to be thrashed out.
Presumably there is much to be discussed with the two clubs and the British Speedway Promoters’ Association (BSPA) needing to thrash out a compromise package.
Panthers and Coventry have been at war with the BSPA since walking out of the sport’s annual meeting in November over decisions that they deemed to be ‘prejudicial, discriminatory and illegal’.
Panthers turned down an opportunity to race in the third-tier National League earlier this week.
Team manager Trevor Swales said at the time: “Racing in the National League is something we have considered but we feel that Peterborough is an Elite League club and that is where we should rightly be.”

An interesting post from Philip Rising (editor of the Speedway Star) on the BSF today:
"ONE thing is for sure about this continuing mess which could, and indeed should, have ended this week... there will be no winners, only losers and that includes all speedway fans, no matter which track they support. As far as Speedway Star can ascertain... an agreement was reached between the BSPA and Coventry and Peterborough, including the amount of Sky money, reduced from what it would have been, the Bees and Panthers would each receive. But subsequently either the BSPA or some of its individual components refused to accept the deal, demanding that Coventry and Peterborough's share be further diminished and that is now the stumbling block. So close and yet so far."

And even more interesting posted from "flagrag", the forum spokesperson from sky:
As i understand the matter both Coventry and Peterborough are ready to go into the 2011 Elite league after a winter of arguments and talks.
It is true that the media rights money for 2011 was shared out between the 8 original clubs that declared their intent to run in the Elite league and the two outspoken clubs were told that no rights money would be available to them this year. But as all parties want Coventry and Peterborough to take their place in the league and to prevent further problems from happening later in the year. A deal was brokered so that the both clubs would recieve some tv rights money along with meeting compensation although this is lower than other clubs and this money would be deducted from 2012 payments along with rights to televise an additional shared event meeting in 2011.
There is now one club in understand that are unhappy with these new arrangements as they have made their business plan for 2011 on Coventry and Peterborough not being in the league which in my personal opinion is a poor business plan and a little silly to base it on those terms. This promotion is obviously looking at the situation from their own ends and the effect of these teams operating on their business in 2011. I am told that most clubs are to tell season ticket holders that these matches featuring Coventry and Peterborough will be extra as the prices were set on an 8 team league and most fans i hope would understand that this additional cost has not been forecast in season ticket pricing.
This is very disapointing after all the work that different parties have put into making this new deal possible and so that fans and Sky viewers get the best of the Elite league. I can state that various people in authority are very unimpressed with this saga and the continued delay in being able to have confirmed UK tv coverage as planning and scheduling are at a standstill and already two ad campaigns have had to be changed because of these outstanding issues.
full quote from BSF
and then, this post after accusations of it being BV:
Obviously it is not for me or anybody else on this forum to reveal which club it is that is holding up this process and possibly putting the whole tv rights deal at risk. But I will say it is not Belle Vue and as i said previously is based on business plan issues rather than axes to grind with the two promotions. I can see why this club has got worries and how it could be a negative thing for their club but having the two clubs back is for the best of the sport and the fans in general.
