It does seem a bit steep... (although the World cup tickets in the Grandstand at Brandon last year were the same price as the adult tickets as far as I remember)...How much is it for an adult ticket for this meeting? It's a cracking line up. I kind of wish I was going....

It's my opinion that the £60,000 prize money would have been far better invested in the development of new riders in much the same way Lakeside are doing. Craig Boyce would be an ideal candidate to manage such a scheme, and in this way, the celebration of 60 years of Speedway racing in Poole could also have been used as an investment towards the next 60 years. As it is, the majority of people paying the extortionate prices to witness the event will feel short changed, as the viewing at Wimborne Road (outside of the start line grandstand) leaves a lot to be desired, and the winner will pocket the prize money and wave goodbye after the meeting. This was a golden opportunity missed imo, but Messrs Golding and Ford are far more experienced promoters than I am, so ho hum!! As an aside, anyone who's thinking of going to this meeting and requires further information is advised to ignore Shovlar on the BSF and seek confirmation from Rabbit, who seems far better informed .

Nah you don't want to listen to her. Totally clueless I reckon.
Kev I hear what you're saying but what you have to remember is the prize money and the associated costs of the meeting are for the most part being financed by the sale of the tickets for the event, hence the structured ticket prices. There would be no £60k without the event happening in the first place... As for feeling short changed - it's an event people are going to watch if they want to - prize money or not, there will still be 20+ hopefully cracking races (and having done a scorecard some of them are mouthwatering!). No-one is forcing anyone one to go.

Hear, hear Badge. Personally I don't have a great interest in this meeting (although I wouldn't say so on the BSF ) I'll wait till Cardiff to see all the greats race together. But hope the weather holds out and no injuries (especially look after Jarek).

I'd just go to see Emil in possibly his only appearance in the UK this year but Poole is too far for me to travel on a Sunday. But I am pleased Speedway is back next weekend.
I personally think that every UK season, we should have a meeting of this calibre to open the season.

Agree with Kev that you should ignore what Shovvy says. A bit rich from me maybe, but i just love winding the silly old flapper up ;D.Squirlie you're ok lass.I still won't be able to attend which is a pity, but it's not for the reasons i say on Bsf, as i said i just like winding up the sales rep SS.

Apparently Hancock has pulled out and will be replaced by Adam Shields.

Apparently Hancock has pulled out and will be replaced by Adam Shields. That's a good thing actually. Adam's far more entertaining anyway, and Hancock spends much of his time trying to get meetings rained off, as witnessed at the Poole staged ELRC in 2004.

I just hope we don't find ourselves in a situation after this one where half the GP line-up are in plasters and we have to go; "Right, whos bright idea was it to get these guys chasing £60.000 after only a few practice laps in the new season?"

That has crossed my mind too Erik!! It's the younger ones who could really do with the £60,000 that may be a little more vunerable but there ya go, it's their job, they know how far to push it .................
