I think we may not get to see them this year now, just a hunch... If your hunch is correct, that could have serious repercussions for Birmingham.

The meeting in Poland went ahead on Tuesday, with Tomasz Gollob making his argument, with the support of the other riders including Jason Crump and the DMU, for abolishing the new rule. But it looks like the PZM want to abide by the FIM's rules, and therefore keep the silencers, although it seems they're not against a compromise. The debate rumbles on...

Taken from the BSPA site
Wednesday March 17, 2010
AT a Management Committee meeting of the British Speedway Promoters' Association on Tuesday, March 16, and following discussions with the Speedway Control Bureau Chairman the following was agreed:
Riders now have a choice of silencer. They can use the homologated silencer from 2009 or the homologated silencer for 2010.
This is in response to concerns over a lack of suitable availability for the 2010 silencers and will remain in place until May 15, 2010.
The British Speedway Promoters' Association hope to have further talks with representatives of other federations using the 2010 silencer.

Why such a specific date as May 15th. Why not until the end of the season?
The words piss up and brewery spring to mind.

Presumably they think they can find a workable fix to the new silencers? Edit: the Poles will be having a meeting on Friday to discuss their own decision on the silencers.

The Polish commission have ruled that riders in all leagues can choose between this year's silencers, or those which were approved for 2009. This applies for the whole season.

One presumes you're also labelling MD and Schumi as, to quote you, 'Thick Twats' for asking the exact same question in not so many words as mine or is it just I you're bestowing the label upon? Edited To Add: Not that I am calling MD or Schumi Thick....you know the rest.

The FIM have decided the new silencers must be used for the SWC, GP qualifiers and junior World Championship. None of the riders agree with this decision, so Krzysztof Cegielski will be writing to the FIM and calling for change. If they don't listen it's possible the riders will boycott the U21 qualifiers - the first round being later this month (25th) at Neustadt Donau.

The FIM need a large pointed, studded boot up their arse. Total fiasco!
