I wouldn't buy him, I'd bin him - belongs in the Premier League. We know what we're gonna get with him which, I admit, is not a lot but he's a decent EL reserve. We should just save ourselves the loan fees year after year and stump up the cash........then loan him out

PK signed..... now they will take some beating next season..... Monday 7th December 2009 Peter Karlsson signs for Belle Vue BELLE Vue have signed top Swede Peter Karlsson to complete a hot cutting edge to their side for the 2010 campaign. He follows Danish World Cup captain Hans Andersen into the Kirkmanshulme Lane team to leave the club with only the two bottom places in the side to be sorted out. Karlsson, who captained Wolverhampton to this year's Elite League championship title, was disappointed to be released by the Midland club, who had to reduce their strength to comply with the 40.95 limit on a team's aggregate averages. He agreed a deal in talks with Aces' chiefs David Gordon and Chris Morton last week but asked for time to think over his strategy for next season before giving his final decision. Karlsson, who is 40 next week, first rode in British speedway when he joined Wolverhampton in 1990 so he is vastly experienced round all tracks and has a knowledge which will help Belle Vue's younger riders like Patrick Hougaard and James Wright. Karlsson, a World Cup winner with Sweden, had a spell with the Aces in 2001 when he made such a good impression that the then promoter, John Perrin, tried to bring him back the following season. He comes in on a figure of 8.66 which means the Aces will not be able to accommodate the return of Dane Ulrich Ostergaard. But they have been told by his parent club, Peterborough, that they might need him next season anyway. Aces' chief David Gordon said: “We are absolutely delighted to have attracted a rider of Karlsson's calibre and experience to Belle Vue. “We spoke to him last week and agreed terms but he asked for time to decide whether or not he wanted to continue in the Elite League next season. “He was disappointed to lose his place at Wolverhampton but, fortunately, he has come to the decision we had been hoping he would make. “We are sorry that Ostergaard won't be coming back. Peterborough had given us permission to talk to him but that was on the understanding that they might want to use him themselves. “This will be the first time we have run a side with two such big hitters as Andersen and Karlsson. It could weaken us a little at the bottom end but we have quite a few interesting options for the last two places in the team.” The Aces have 7.30 points left for their last two riders. Which now means Jimmy will be in the main body of the team which will probably line up with Hans and Jimmy at 1&2, Paddy Longlegs at 3 with the Cheddarman at 4 leaving PK at 5.
Just need to get the reserves right and a play off place is what we should be aiming for, no not the one we were in this year, the one at the other end of the table. From what I've heard it's likely to be a new foreigner on a 4 point average and 2 double uppers. I'd take Jankowski back as I think he'd do an ok job at reserve and can ride the bigger away tracks pretty well.....plus he'd get a hot reception at Brandon.

Wee Willie Lawson signed up for the 2010 Aces.
EL full time too so let's hope he lasts longer than Boxall did.

I wouldn't buy him, I'd bin him - belongs in the Premier League. Yes, I'm sorry to see Wright is in the team again. He's too erratic to be of any real use over the course of the season. If he fails this season he should be shown the entrance to the Premier League. He just isn't consistent enough for top flight speedway.

Something to do with Kyle not getting a 2009 PL average and folk (mainly disgruntled Aces fans) are moaning that Peterborough should not be allowed Roynon to double up either. I don't know the ins and outs of it but Lanham is a better prospect THIS SEASON than Kyle. Leigh rides BV well and will be useful down at reserve when we visit Eastbourne and Lakeside. Not too sure he'll do much good round Ipswich but you never know. Let Kyle have this season to find his feet again and think about a 2011 doubling up spot. We also start our season with a War of the Roses clash away at Sheffield. We'll be taking our full team minus Hans Andersen who is honouring a commitment to appear in an open meeting at Swindon.

Patrick Hougaard and Charlie Gjedde had a bit of a coming together at Stoke over the weekend and Charlie hit the fence. Charlie's hurt his knee and has flown back to Denmark to have it checked out, therefore Charlie won't be at P&P tomorrow.
Pre-Season Injury hoodoo strikes again!!!

BELLE VUE: GJEDDE HURT MONDAY MARCH 15, 2010 BELLE Vue star Charlie Gjedde (rhymes with cheddar) is having a scan in Denmark today (Monday) after injuring his left knee during a practice session at Stoke on Saturday. Gjedde, who has just started his comeback after being out since last July with a shoulder injury, was thrown through the safety fence after a collision with his Belle Vue colleague Patrick Hougaard. An initial X-ray showed that nothing was broken but his knee is very swollen and he has gone home to see a specialist. Aces' chief David Gordon said: “We will have to wait for the result of the scan but we are remaining optimistic he will be fit for out first Elite League match of the season at home to Coventry on March 29.” (BSPA) Who on earth wrote that?? Was there really any need to tell us that Gjedde rhymes with cheddar.....!!!
