I have just read a small portion of the BSF - widely acknowledged as the biggest speedway forum, and created so supporters of the sport could air their opinions. Right?
Wrong. Currently seems to be a place for complaining about Ole Olsen, the GPs, Sky's red button, their commentary, arena facilities, promoters, managers, the BSPA, the fans, the rules, the cost, the programmes and the riders. What the bloody hell are they doing on a speedway forum then? What possible purpose does it serve? And, I'm sorry, but how ironic is this post: "I lost interest in the GP circus some time ago." So why bother wasting precious seconds of life reading and posting on a thread about the GPs?
Have these people forgotten what they love about speedway? I mean, come on, so many people say it's not what it used to be, but has it really changed that much over the years?
I realise there are many things that could do with some improvement, and I know I do my share of complaining, but, crikey, there must be more to talk about than just bitching.
And yes, I know I've just started a thread moaning about people moaning, but I'm not in the best of moods, and fed up with all the negativity. No wonder certain promoters hate speedway forums.

And who would be speedway forums most negative poster ! I'm in the top 10 allegedly: "Probably because you perceive yourself as one of the negative, ignorant and frequently anonymous he refers to. To be fair he is probably right" ;D

And who would be speedway forums most negative poster ! In my time I was up there, but now... well the title of the thread says it all Sorry Schumi I think there is a fair bit to be negative about, perhaps it could be better articulated and yes, there is no point moaning without putting forward constructive ideas about how the situation could be changed, but the BSPA have steadfastly refused to accept there is 1) anything fundamentally wrong and 2) that anyone outside their select little clique could possibly have any useful contribution to make, so all you get left with is moaning, sad but true

Don't apologise - I completely agree and see your point. But on the other side, is it any wonder they don't listen when the standard of argument is so poor? I'm not talking about constructive criticism - I don't think anyone objects to that, but when there are complaints about trivialities such as the standard of burger at Brandon, it's little wonder no-one bothers to read on. I certainly logged off after reading that GP thread.

But the truth is that the standard of burger at Brandon does matter to some people. And those people are coughing over the readies to attend, I guess. To be sure, the standard of burger at Brandon isn't one of the most pressing items in British speedway, but it's symptomatic of the dereliction and decay that lies at the very heart of the sport in this country. And you do have to get the little things right as well - people have higher expectations of their leisure activities now and speedway would do well to acknowledge that.

Okay, but as you don't pay for you burger in the price of your ticket, what more do you want for your money? I mean, you knew when you paid you'd get 15 heats with 4 riders, but you can't legislate for the quality of racing - you pay your money and you take your chances. You know what you're going to get, so what's the complaint? Genuine question - just wondered what people expect from their entrance fee.

Actually, don't answer that - I know you, so I know what your answer will be - that you don't always get 15 heats, the rules aren't applied consistently, facilities abused. I know your complaints, but you're not bitching on the BSF. So maybe someone else can answer?

Genuine question - just wondered what people expect from their entrance fee. Generally, from most British speedway promotions, plenty to complain about, whether that be poor quality racing, riders missing for all manner or made-up reasons, poor or diabolical refereeing from complete and utter numpties, substandard refreshments at inflated prices and the list goes on and on and on, I'm afraid.
