So after the BSPA were rightfully selected for thier ongoing inconsistency and unneccessary blocking of a Sunday date for the Swindon/Oxford/Reading/Cradley 4TT, it's onto a new week.
Badge, would you like to pick the winner next Saturday?

I would like to nominate: Graham "The Golem" FlintYesterday, he did his best to ruin a fantastic day's racing at speedway's second best (behind Somerset) racetrack: Scunthorpe's Eddie Wright Raceway. The Scunny v Mildenhall match passed without too much interference from the oversized ref - probably because he didn't have any tough decisions to make. BUT then came Round 1 of the Under-15 championship, at which point Britain's worst referee showed his true colours: HEAT 12: 14-year-old Jack Butler falls off while third in one of the 500cc heats. He's obvioulsy not going to get up in time, but Flint waits nearly a whole lap before putting on the red lights, but which time race leader Josh Dingle is dangerously close. Disgusting. Absolutely disgusting. HEAT 19: The 250c class contains youngsters of a vast difference of ability. In this race, one lad (Roger Lambert) laps another one (Jack Jones). Jones has good awareness, hears Lambert approaching, and moves over to let Lambert by just before Lambert takes the chequered flag, to avoid any kind of incident. Now the Under-15 championship cannot be fully official, simply because of the age of the competitors taking part. It is held under speedway regulations, but it is up to the discretion of the referee how to apply these rules. So what does Flint do? He excludes a 12-year-old lad for getting lapped. Great encouragement for the lad. 500cc FINAL: Now these lads haven't quite mastered the skill of staying completely stationery at the tapes. At the first time of asking, all the riders are gittery at the tapes, it's a highly ragged start and Flint correctly pulls it back. At the second time of asking, 14-year-old Ashley Morris (unbeaten going into the final) gets a roller and again it's brought back. At this point, Morris receives a warning from Flint. In the third start, Morris gates - but the race is then stopped. Morris has been penalised 15m. Now, I didn't see Morris move this time, it looked like a fair start. PhilK from Mildenhall was stood next to me, specficially watching Morris and reckoned he may have moved just a fraction. In any case, it was a fair cleaner start than many on the day and should have been allowed to go. Morris off his 15m handicap, is quickly into third, but cannot get past second placed Josh Dingle. Kyle Howarth wins the round, while Ashley Morris, the best rider on the afternoon, finishes third after Flint decided to demonstrate the power he has over a 14-year-old kid. So that's my nomination for this week's FOTW - Graham "The Golem" Flint.

I cant comment on the other incidents Genghis but if you get lapped in speedway your disqualified, thats the rule, i dont think it should matter whether its the world cup final or a meaningless race involving a 12 year old.......its harsh but fair, any other decision would make the event a mockery.

I'll nominate Barcelona football club(the most over-rated team in world football) for moaning that Chelsea didn't 'roll over' and fall into the trap of the one dimensional Spanish side. They might find it piss easy to stick six past hapless sides like Real Madrid but facing a top English side is an altogether different prospect. Messi aside they are a very very average outfit.

Well, when I went to Sittingbourne a couple of years ago, a rider (a 70-year-old believe it or not ) was lapped and not excluded because it was a non-official meeting and the referee used his discretion. Surely a referee with any common sense at all (which excludes Flint I suppose) would have made the same decision yesterday. The lad could have stuck to his line and not got lapped, but this could have put both competitors at risk, as they were going such different speeds. So he got right out of the way to avoid trouble and then gets excluded for it!!

That's a fair nomination. What a cock the Golem is.
There used to be a local football referee in Ipswich with the same mindset as Flint. He was taken off the adult list because he was so bad.
He ended up refereeing the local schools and youth matches, applying the laws of the game to the letter and sending 12 years old boys off for the most petty of things.

In that case, I'd better go this week without making any more "tedious" remarks regarding Ipswich.

I'd like to nominate guitar art on BSF for his constant nagging posts over the use of alleged swear words by Rob Lyon. He himself says Rob apologised but that apparently isn't good enough the idiot insists on putting in an official complaint!!

Rob Lyon apologised, he accepted his apology and then goes on all the forums asking for people to PM him because he is still going to make an official complaint. WTF is that all about? Christ knows who the official complaint went to, but exactly what action does he want or expect to be taken?
