1. F1 2. Horse Racing 3. Moto GP 4. Indy Cars 5. Greyhound Racing 6. Superbikes 7. Three Day Event 8. A1 9. Stock Car Racing 10. TT Racing To do any of the above is very expensive, yet all are watched by huge crowds. Theory disproved. And horse racing and three day eventing are the same discipline. Try again. Whilst I don't wish to participate in this discussion, however I am enjoying reading it, I have to take you to task Schumi for this incorrect statement I'm afraid. Three day eventing and Horse racing are as different as F1 and touring cars or Speedway and the TT races.

I meant it's still horse riding - something anyone can take part in at their local stables, thus meaning genghis can't include them in his list. But point duly noted.

Just because you thought I couldn't come up for 10 sports and I did. Anyway, thanks to Badge: 11. Touring Cars

Also as official adjudicator, i removed both Greyhound and Horse racing off your list. Touring cars ? what the fuck is that ?

Not on a weekly basis Hatcham, 3 day eventing doesn't take place on a weekly basis as such, however Badminton Horse Trials in May always has the biggest supported event with over 100,000 people attending on cross country day. doh!! I wasn't going to take part in this thread, as I am enjoying reading it so much

You're forgiven, but, to be perfectly honest with you, apart from knowing roughly what it is, my level of ignorance is about the same as your's, so I have no idea.

Forgive my ignorance but does this sport pull in bigger weekly crowds than speedway, or is it another one i can strike from Genghis's list ? BTCC pulls in crowds of about 25 to 30,000 at it's events which don't take place weekly, so if it's just the UK variety you are considering then probably it gets less fans weekly than speedway. I'd also question the claim that this is a sport that you can't take part in. OK, it's tough to get into a professional event, but the concept of the sport is that is "mass market" cars being raced, so nothing to stop you heading down your local track day with your own car and racing your mates.... The difference between doing that and the BTCC is basically the same as the difference between playing a game of footie down the park and playing in the Premiership.

And if that's too much trouble, you and your (well, probably not you and your's, young henryw) mates in your Corsas, complete with blacked-out windows and extremely stupid exhaust pipes, can drive round and round your local McDonalds instead.

I've thought of one more: 12. Aerodrome cycling - not your normal bikes, but those expensive telfon bikes or whatever they're made of. Gets big crowds since the success at the Olympics. So even if I've got to lose a couple, I've still got 10.
