(Unless you're referring to Sullivan. Who ruled himself out of the two Leszno meeting and was shite at Peterborough anyway ) Of course I am referring to Sullivan. I don't believe that Ryan DID rule himself out of the two Leszno meetings, in fact I think he said he would happily race for his Country. I think he has explained his Peterboro performance fairly adequately and there can be no doubt that he would have been a much bigger threat around Leszno than Batchelor was.

And he remains a force on the Polish tracks, just as Richardson is a force on Polish tracks, which is why Lyon recalled him for Leszno. However, Sullivan's face apparently doesn't fit as far as Jason Crump is concerned. And that seems to be all that matters for Boyce, who must be a very weak team manager. Why not just make Crump team manager?

Why not just make Crump team manager? How does everything end up as Jason Crump's fault? I not the Ginger Whinger's biggest fan, but the way some blame him for this, that and everything is laughable. How is it Crumpie's fault that Sullivan has an attitude problem?

How is it Crumpie's fault that Sullivan has an attitude problem? And Crump's never had an attitude problem, has he?

How is it Crumpie's fault that Sullivan has an attitude problem? And Crump's never had an attitude problem, has he? Crumpie was a right little wanker whilst he was riding for Oxford in 1998 - punching his own team-mate (Todd) was bang out of order. BUT Crump's on-track attitude is just right - he wants to win. Whereas if he's in the wrong mood, Sullivan goes out there and rides like a pillock. Sullivan clearly had his wrong head on at Peterborough earlier in the week. I doubt if he'd outperformaed Batchelor - Sullivan would almost certainly gone to pieces when the pressure was on in Heat 24, something he's always done.

He's always gone to pieces when the pressure was on? I presume that means that you don't think there is any pressure in SGP Finals then? The lad won 4 of them as I am sure you are well aware!

HenryW, he did but then he had a few problems on-and-off the track, fell to pieces and he's never regained his mojo. These days, he falls to pieces when the heat is on. He somehow threw it away in the GP Challenge last season, going from probable meeting winner to non-qualifier, and ran a last at a vital time at Peterborough on Monday. Winning 4 GPs was a great achievement, but the last of those came in 2003, six years ago. Using your kind of wonky argument, surely Gary Havelock should be in the British team, because he once won a World Championship?

On Monday, when the chips were down Sullivan was beaten by... Alexsander Conda. So anyone who says his absence today cost Australia victory is talking nonsense. Sullivan would have hated that heavy track. If any team manager was poor today, it was Cieslak. He missed several good chances to use his joker. He fluked it in the end, even a trained chimpanzee would have put out Hampel in Heat 23.

Winning 4 GPs was a great achievement, but the last of those came in 2003, six years ago. Using your kind of wonky argument, surely Gary Havelock should be in the British team, because he once won a World Championship? No. You are mixing two arguments there Genghis. I referred to the GP victories purely in relation to your claim that he had "always" gone to pieces under pressure. I wasn't using the GP victories as any measure of whether he should have been in the SWC team. His scoring this season is the only thing I am basing the SWC claim on. In the Polish averages he sits ahead of names like Sajfutdinov, Kasprzak, Miedzinski, Lindgren, Lindback and others who were competing in the SWC Final, including two riders who were competing for Australia. Simple fact is that Sullivan IS one of the top 5 Aussies and Boyce chose not to use him. I'm sure that when they reflect on their defeat Boyce and the Aussie team will rue that decision.

Simple fact is that Sullivan IS one of the top 5 Aussies In your opinion (it's not a fact ), not in mine. I think Boyce's main regret may be not his selection of riders, but maybe the way he lined them up. If Crump had been at No. 2 and therefore in Heats 20 & 24 it may have played out differently.

Hatcham - a manager can only work with what he's got. Cieslak has the better riders in the world, he shold walk the World Cup, not scrape it by a single point. Lyon did a good job with what he had to work with. The manager of the tournament was the Russian manager.
