And who will ever forget Robert Nagy beating Mick Poole in a thrice run , run-off for the Div 2 riders championship at Coventry . Me, I'm afraid.

The PL Pairs should remain at Somerset - it's one of the best meetings of the year.
And the PLRC works at Sheffield.
Less sure about the PL Fours at Workington. Now Horton's pissed off, I feel this should return to its spiritual home at Peterborough, it was a great day out.

Why are people wanting to go to the same tracks every year? add some diversity to your trips. I dont see why a rota or independent draw out the hat style is frowned upon so much

I dont see why a rota or independent draw out the hat style is frowned upon so much I think you'll find there are only a handful of tracks who actually apply to host these events . Somerset on the eve of the GP , despite the hell which is the M5 , is now the spiritual home for the Pairs .

If something isn't broken, don't fix it (although I do think the British GP at Cardiff is broken). The PLRC has been moved from Sheffield and it always comes back. Why? Because Sheffield do a good job of hosting it. They have a good stadium and a good track.

It was a real pity that Mick Poole never picked up the D2RC title. Great rider. And a travesty that Bruce Cribb never did - had it been hosted at Powderhall he might've done. Cribb was nigh on unbeatable at Powderhall.

Because Sub Cardiff isnt a team track therefore holds no advantage to anyone other than the crowd backing the GB riders. That is why it shouldnt be moved.

And then Gary Allan denied Mick Poole in 1993, which went completely against the grain, as Allan was riding for Swindon at the time. I remember Oxford going to Shawfield in 1994 with Mick Poole & Martin "Burt" Goodwin, and both riders being loudly booed on the parade, causing Burt to blow kisses towards the Glasgow fans. ;D

Because Sub Cardiff isnt a team track therefore holds no advantage to anyone other than the crowd backing the GB riders. That is why it shouldnt be moved. But other GP tracks do hold advantages for given riders, in particular one track in Poland, which by general consent is the best track in the GPs. Anyway, look, we're talking about the cream of the crop when we're talking the PLRC. If they can't ride the tracks then they shouldn't be there. Every single rider at the PLRC should be competitive on all the tracks, end of story. If they aren't, tough. And how many other clubs do you hear complaining about the allocation? Maybe, just maybe, the tracks selected are the only ones willing to host the events?

By that (strange) reasoning, let's hold the PL Pairs at Sittingbourne's Old Gun Site. The track is a complete pile of shite, but it will be a neutral meeting. No thanks, certain tracks are right to stage certain events at.

He had David Walsh in the fence at Shawfield one night , that's why he wasn't loved in Glasgow . Poole's antics in the run-off for the riders championship is the reason why he was getting the bird .
