Should you be worried? How do you think I'm feeling? At least I can rest assured that mine had exclamation marks, and yours didn't. ;D

Anyway, the loneliness of the long distance runner: www.youtube.com/watch?v=kFl2S9H7pwc&NR=1Yes, poor old Jacek Gollob appears to have a poorly bike at Wroclaw, but with a point up for grabs he takes to his heels and pushes for home. Eventually, younger brother Tomasz turns up to offer moral support to his clearly flagging brother. Then, with the end in sight, some bastards turn up and point out that it's all been in vain, presumably because he exceeded the time limit (I think you get about two and a half minutes from tapes up to complete the race, it might even be less in Poland). Only just seen this one.....Aah bless ! Poor chap !

Only just seen this one.....Aah bless ! Poor chap ! If he'd had the energy, perhaps the track staff would've been introduced to young Jacek's forehead, the way some poor fellow is at the end of this clip: www.youtube.com/watch?v=S-ziNVsn0rsIt's the Polish final in 1995. Tomasz Gollob has 14 points in the bag and Piotr Swist can join him on 14 points if he wins Ht 20. Kowalik has bike problems and is excluded on the 2 minute rule. As the tapes rise the Weirdity makes the start, with Swist in third place, but Krzyzaniak tumbles on turn 3 and Swist is second. Then the Weirdity mysteriously slows, Swist wins and the Gollobs aren't happy bunnies.

I can't find the footage I was looking for. Type in Balinski and all you get is "upadek" or some mushy shite made up by a hormonal fan.
Edit: I was trying to think of an instance when Balinski, Pedersen (the exciting one), Richardson and Bridger might have met in the same race. Has it ever happened?

But here's Balinski getting it all wrong and Peterborough's Karol Zabik being collected by Balinski's flying bike: uk.youtube.com/watch?v=rdmUcM6Pdz0And here's Andreas Jonsson being "Balinskied": uk.youtube.com/watch?v=nYF0qhyFIpY

Here's an interesting clip from Tyne Tees Television featuring a Middlesbrough versus Newcastle fixture in 1982, including an interview with the great Joe Owen: www.youtube.com/watch?v=_k7elCrM5x4

I'm loving the steam-roller !! uk.youtube.com/watch?v=zCmRSrZvwcA&feature=related

There was a time when the National League Fours was a fixture at the EoES and in 1983 the Newcastle Diamonds were the victors thanks to some inspired riding from Martin Scarisbrick: www.youtube.com/watch?v=YjG_LavdVpI
