I would like to nominate any BSF or Other Speedway chat room posters who no longer watch live speedway in the British Isles- There are bloody loads of em... "clack, clack, clack, Moan, Moan, Moan" but don't support British Speedway either in body or financially through the turnstyles... I won't name names but they can Fuck off! the lot of them.. Make me puke! Seconded We had the same at Peterborough United with the "I'll not attend while Barry Fry is still at the club" brigade. Plenty to say but saw bugger all - wonder if they go now (not speedway I know but an anaolgy of sorts).

?? Thought Rigsby was referring to my lovely new shiny Poole Avatar on BSF! ;D He was! But then you seemed to have something stuck in your throat and I couldn't work out why... Hatcham - you're right. Interpreters needed.....whooosh.... Oh...I've just got it. Somebody obviously thought I was not quite as intelligent as I actually am. When I said "why", I meant "why do these people change their avatars to a Poole one?.... You know.......I mean why do it..... Derr !!! God this is hard work..........

Just because people have got so disillusioned with the sport they want to waste their hard earned cash on something where they are entertained and appreciated doesn't mean they don't care or deserve an opinion. I've been going to speedway since I was 6 weeks old and have been to home and away fixtures for the last 25 years. Therefore I think the 'support both bodily and financially' I've given in that time gives me and others in a similar postion the rights to express our opinions!

But Lupus - This is why British Speedway is dying on it's feet.. People need to Support the product and not stay at home moaning about it on Speedway forums... I agree it's bloody expensive, but it's an evening out, chance to see some live speedway action, take in the atmosphere, mix with like minded people and support the sport we all love or loved! If people who frequent Speedway chat room cannot be bothered with supporting the sport then what chance has it got of attracting new fans? I don't understand the mentality of people who will watch live updates and post about meetings when they don't/won't attend live speedway anymore.. As far as I can see these are people that are sucking the lifeblood out of the sport! I even watch Speedway at the crap ultra small Rye House "training" track.. Because it's a chance to watch live speedway and support something I love.. If nobody attends, the track will close down like countless other speedway tracks around the UK because of fickle fans! And then the Fickle fans will just get on their soap boxes again complaining that they have no local Speedway venue!

But is the non attendance of some speedway followers, the fault of the individuals or the governing bodies ? it could equally be argued that attending when you are not satisfied give the 'rulers' carte blanche to do whatever they want.

I understand your point FP, but the whole attitude of, if you love your sport or team, you have to keep attending is becoming outdated,. Maybe the BSPA or whoever it is that runs the sport in britain should consider how many potential attendees stay at home because the product on offer is shit, and try to improve it

You can't fight for something which no longer exists. Better to attend and fight from within with up to date knowledge and experiences.

I do agree though..... Have finally just started reading "Tragedy - Kenny Carter". It's interesting reading about crowds and financial problems that were there in the 70's. It seems in some respects not a lot has changed....

For the record i do attend speedway, i was merely playing devils advocate, but as a football fan who no longer attends i can understand and accept why somebody may choose to stay at home. Also i wonder how many people, like me live best part of two hours from a track.
