I think as you've feasted on some egg & chips speedway at Rye this season FP, you know too that speedway can exsist & can be just as good without without these top names. Don't buy this crap about attendances dropping without the top GP riders riding over here either, and I'll use my club as an example. 2006 - Reading riding up at the top of the EL, Hancock, Zagar, Kolodziej team regulars (well, ok sometimes ), were attendances at Smallmead any better than in 2008 with Madsen, Suchanek & Mills riding for us? Simple answer is NO, if anything attendances this season were better than the average gate during our EL stint. Your right FP. Fuck 'em. At the end of the day, it's a bloke on a bike. Mear & Glanz can be just as exciting to watch as Crump & Holta.

Well we've had our best season for a long time, and all without a GP rider in sight, and quite frankly I suspect it will be the same this next season too.

Couldn't agree with you more wackie.. attending meetings at Rye House this season has taken me back to my early Panthers days when we were in the old National League 2.. We still had great racing and individual favourites to cheer.... We also saw a different team every week! none of this current play everyone 15 times shite that now gets served up in the Elite League! Wonderful times and wonderful memories, close meetings, 4 team tournaments, Silver helmet, second half to meetings etc etc.. So let Elite Speedway RIP! The Premier league model is the way forward!

According to ekstrabladet.dk Nicki Pedersen will not be riding in England next season. The same applies for Tomasz Gollob, Greg Hancock and probably Hans Andersen. I used to care if we lost the top names - I don't any more.

Cory Gathercole confirmed as a 2009 Robin in todays Speedway Star, I don't think Gathercole is anywhere near ready to ride in the EL What a strange signing unless there is going to be doubling up again and not just for British youngsters, but even then

Seriously though, Cory has said that he wants to ride alongside Leigh Adams, who he feels he can learn a lot off. This decision makes me think that we could be seeing Mr Clean for the last time in 2009. I do however, believe that doubling up will be re-introduced next year, although I don't know the finite details of the regulation......they will no doubt be ironed out at the Conference.

Like Wacks says, it doesn't matter if GP riders are in a team to me, the racing is just as good without them. But some fans will sit on their arses in their armchairs even more and not bother

Braveheart, most of the fans who say they won't got to speedway if there's no Pedersen's/Crump's/Adam's riding are arm chair fans already anyway, maybe they just mean they won't strain themselves to change that Sky channel over on a Monday evening.

I think I'm pretty much up to date with the Swedish teams, but if I've missed anything from "home" then let me know. I'll leave Subedei to do Poland.
