I'd like to nominate the father who thought it OK to let his two young children ride quad bikes on a public highway after 6 in the evening, alledgedly without lights, and totally illegally. His stupidity led to the death of his 7 year old daughter. news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/essex/7161165.stmWhilst I feel enormous sympathy for the whole family and indeed the driver of the other vehicle involved. His total disregard not only for the law but of all common sense is unbelieveable.

Yes that and people who think it's a good idea to have Rottweillers and other dangerous dogs in the vicinity of young children . What goes on inside these people's heads ?

Yes, the BBC made a big thing of the driver of the other vehicle being arrested on suspicion of 'driving under the influence', but I immediately thought what on earth was a 7-year old doing riding a quad bike on the road. To be honest, I think quad bikes are bloody dangerous at the best of times. They're dead easy to turn-over, and you can't jump off them before all their weight lands on top of you. I'm not surprised there are so many accidents with them.

It was a quad bike that nearly killed Rik Mayall a few years back wasn't it??
A very stupid man, however whats the point in charging him? The death of his daughter will surely haunt him more than any criminal charges??
However the other driver should also have the book thrown at her IF, as alleged, she was under the influence. If she had not been she might have been able to avoid the collision.
One very sorry mess IMO!

Both the father and the woman motorist have equal responsibility for this little girls death. My daughter is 7 and had some in-line skates from Santa ( : my husband has been following her around on them for days to minimise the risk......this little girl was the same age and her father thought it was ok to buy her a 100cc motobike and let her ride it on the road.............flapperjack isn't a strong enough word for him! As Melchy said Rik Mayall nearly died riding one of these things - as did Ozzy Osbourne - they are NOT toys!

However the other driver should also have the book thrown at her IF, as alleged, she was under the influence. Of course being unfit to drive could mean prescription medications as well, although probably not given her age. I think the father bears far more culpability than the driver though, from the sound of things.

Apart from some sciencey thing, it's also the user name on a gay dating forum. I'd suggest the fact that SB didn't reply, even though he'd read it, means he knew he was wrong. It's not like him not to stick up for himself, after all, now is it? Welcome aboard, anyway.

I nominate the screaming Nigel Pearson and the clowns who run his website. I visited the website and signed the "guestbook", yet within forty-eight hours my entry had been removed. I did receive an e-mail from this most annoying of commentators telling me that negative comments were removed as the site there as a "positive portrayal" of his work and an "on-line CV". So, apart from crushing freedom of speech on his website, he also admits to doctoring his CV.
