In a good way, it may seem weird (or maybe not because this is a weird place) but I can type a post out here and post without thought, but BSF I post, delete part of it, re-write, delete again, re-write. Think this sounds like a rant and by the time I'm satisfied it won't get deleted, modded, moaned, libelled or warned it sounds nothing like what I was gonna post.

So I officially nominate "The Other Place" as the new name for...well....."The Other place" (joke for the public Schoolboy set, whoever they are). The more intricate and confusing the insider jargon, the greater the mischief

So I officially nominate "The Other Place" as the new name for...well....."The Other place" (joke for the public Schoolboy set, whoever they are). The more intricate and confusing the insider jargon, the greater the mischief Or maybe "Another Place", for the politically minded. My own views on the BSF have been stated and are well known. I see the BSF as very much a mirror that reflects the state of speedway and few would claim that speedway in this country is in a pleasant state. These do not appear to be reasonable times within the sport, especially at EL level and the BSF reflects that.

The 2007 Elite league was rugby tackled by the 2006/7 winter IMO

I tend to put the decisive event one year earlier - the winter of 2005/6.

and the Advent of BSI's domestic assault? No, the points limit being set at 40, although that was to accommodate BSI's assault on the sport at a domestic level.

I'm very glad to read that there are others who get pissed off with the Coventry Mafia and the Poole cheerleaders! ;D As the often lone voice of Wolves on the BSF (sorry the Other Place) I have found it hard going at times - ironically the only people who back me up are spoon fans! Inconsistant moderating is one reason I get peed off over there along with those who THINK they're moderators even when they're not! I do agree that perhaps we on TWWOS do only need a section for EL, PL, CL and GP's/Individuals rather than one for each club. Until I started posting there wasn't a single thread in the Wolves section! My other suggestion would be to make MORE sections memebers only. That way some of the 'lurkers' who have been tipped off by others as to our existence couldn't read the threads - make the bastards join and be named I say!

Hey wacks - are u Wackie? If the majority of posters here have arrived in the full fresh fury of a BSF moderator ticking off/warning/deletion/locking or spat with the Coventry Clique or Poole's Pompous Posters, then you may be in trouble. That's not the case at all . I'm am an active member of both forums and have no axe to grind with any BSF mod , i'm in fact close friends with one of them . This forum is showing healthy growth and can live quite happily alongside the BSF . In fact you tend to spend more time in here while waiting for pages to change on the BSF . I agree the BSF has seen an increased number of irritating know-alls recently , which makes this forum a refreshing alternative to the BSF - not a competitor .

I'm very glad to read that there are others who get pissed off with the Coventry Mafia and the Poole cheerleaders! ;D The only kind of poster I actually dislike is the ProxyRiderPoster - those who intervene to say one of the following hoary old classics: "Lets see YOU do better than XXXX did" "And you've never even ridden a speedway bike" "XXXX is a really nice boke" "How dare you post that - XXX's confidence is low and needs our support" "Disgraceful - i say lets just get behind our team" "Apologise - how can you say that about XXXXX" "XXXX I luv U - yur wicked - C U on Tuesday" "XXXX is a reall gent - he spoke to my little boy so he cannot have done what you say" "When I spoke to XXX he seemed lovely" "Dont you realise these guys risk their LIVES for our entertainment?!?!??!" and so ad infinitum

So ProxyRiderPoster is only marginally better than InsiderNameDropPoster
"As i said to XXX after the 3rd heat..." "Well XXX can't hold his beer" "My sisters-mothers-uncles-neighbour was XXX's spanner man so I know THE TRUTH" "Look, if you talked to XXX you'd se what I do" "How can you say that? XXX's great aunt reads this forum every day!"

The one that gets thrown at me every so often is: "And would you say that to his (usually the former British champion) face?" And why wouldn't I? And what do they imagine would happen? Do they think and hope that their hero would try and push me around, like he did Ian Thomas?

"XXXX I luv U - yur wicked - C U on Tuesday" Have to agree with that. I can't stand text speak and never use it myself, even when texting. I actually don't mind the Poole fans, it's another camp that annoy me.
