This was posted on the BSF by Shane's wife:
Hi all Just a little update on Shane. He was indeed taken into hospital on return from Mount Gambier last weekend, complaining of chest pains and difficulty breathing. Initial diagnosis was that he was suffering from a blood clot and he was subsequently injected with Warfarin and given tablets to reduce the pain. Further tests however revealed that he is actually suffering from pneumonia. He has since been discharged from hospital with antibiotics and pain relief but is adament that a Jack and Coke will fix all!! Many thanks to everyone for expressing their concern via the internet, texts and email... your messages are very much appreciated. Off now to hide the Jack Daniels!!! Anji Parker (Shanes wife)

Finally signed up to this site, and cant believe the amount of mentions I have recieved in this thread already.
Although I will be the first to admit I do not think Glasgow have the side that can win the league, I firmly believe we will pull off a few shocks and win at least a few away meeting, whilst keeping a good home record. This will see us fight for a top 8 finish.
As for the signing of Ross Brady, I think it is the best signing we have made this winter. He will make a mockery of his starting average. This will in return force Trent to up his game if he wants to maintain his second heat leader position, which can only be a good thing for Glasgow. If Shane maintains his usual form, which I dont doubt he will, and Ross and Trent both up their averages. I can see Trent and Ross both being in the 7's by the time mid-season comes. Then Glasgow will be onto a winner.
Robert is the key in my opinion, he needs a rub of the green this season. We all know what he can do, he just needs to stay injury free to do it.
Big Lee, what can you say about the guy, I cant believe Paulco didn't want him...the guy has proved that when the chips are down he will fight back, he is never happy with second place and will always fight to the line. The sort of rider I would want every season in my team.
As for the two new boys, I think they will be exciting to watch. I am looking forward to watching them progress. They should become in time ok around Ashfield, and as been said before they will have one of the best teaching them.
All in all I am a happy tiger with this team....
Although I would prefer James Grieves in the side.
