Sky foresake the delights of the Elite League's "steak and chips" in favour of the "egg and chips" of the Premier League (presumably the Ekstraliga is "fish and chips" courtesy of the Wetherby Whaler) this week, as the screaming imbecile and Tatum MBE (assuming he has completed the delicate task of massaging the bruised ego of the global superstar) head to cider country and reputedly the finest speedway track in the country. Yes, the Oak Tree Arena seldom gets anything other than rave reviews from visitors, so we should be in for a rare treat. And, speaking of treats, no doubt one of the reasons this fixture was chosen is the presence of the prodigiously talented Darcy Ward in the King's Lynn ranks. Being from the penal colony, it's unlikely that Ward will get the "Wuffy, Wuffy, Wuffy" treament, but you never know (if you think Millard was bad on Saturday, think how much worse it would've been if the screaming one had been commentating on Sajfutdinov's maiden win). Anyway, covering this meeting also allows Sky to feature their occasional employee Steve Johnston, who riders for the Somerset Rebels. Personally, I'm expecting a King's Lynn win and I'm hoping for some cracking "egg and chips" speedway.

Not really steak and chips this year for the Elite League, more like beans on toast, and not heinz beans, more like the runny Tesco ones that are now in the blue and white tins.

Can't wait to see this . The best team in the PL ( Kings Lynn ) on the best track in Britain . What more could the speedway enthusiast want ? All we need now is the rain to stay away for us to be regally entertained .

Well, seven heats down and I'm thinking: Oak Tree Arena; is that it? Sorry to say, but at the minute it does just seem to be hype.

i can't understand it as normally there is passing and re-passing on every bend of every lap at OTA. There's even passing usually on the parade lap and the pre-meeting track walks.
All Premier League is crap and all Elite League is crap as well. Unless it's my own track, then I will stick up for them with my blinkered vision and then tell everyone how my track and club is better than everyone else's.

I suppose Ht 10 was a bit better, although it owed much to Schramm's bike packing up and Christian Henry riding like an old woman.

I can only assume from Ht 14 that Darcy Ward is allowed to jump the start - how the hell was that not called back by the referee?

Its an exciting meeting for me - but then since I'm shouting at the TV, I'd say I'm somewhat bias.
