And the Stars start their campaign with a very comfortable win over last season's champions Edinburgh: www.speedwayupdates.proboards103.com/index.cgi?board=Kings&action=display&thread=4310&page=1Schramm and Ward looking particularly good for the Stars, while Topinka is as reliable as ever when it comes to points. I think the Stars will have to look at moving Schramm from the No 2 slot in future meetings - he's obviously improved tremendously during his season among the "elite". In fact, it should be a talking point as to whether riders should be allowed to return to the PL on their previous average after a season in the EL. For the Monarchs, lots of machine problems and Stoddart have to be worries.

Good old Schrammy, I'm so glad he's had a good meeting 14+1 ;D, and pleased that Darcy has managed to get here.

Yeah, nice one Schrambo. Couple of good scalps for him tonight in beating future GP stars Jonasson and Fisher.

It's rather unfair to mock the Snipster's posts, what he meant to say probably got lost in translation, remember his first language is Gaelic I see. So he meant that Ryan Fisher might be selling programmes at Cardiff in future years, not actually riding in the event. It makes sense now.

Darcy came off last couple of rides, but was entertaining - 'last' doesn't seem to be acceptable to him.

Oh dear oh dear oh dear............. If you think that's bad, just wait until the cruel, crazy Bandits hit the Norfolk Arena. Cant wait. Couple of interesting events... Mear shut the door on Sanchez L4 B4, leaving him no option but to shut off... After that race was handbags at dawn on the centre green. I dont think Sanchez was the happiest. Though you saw no such thing from Darcy, when Tommy Allen almost put him into the fence on the second bend of the first lap, when Darcy went around the outside to go past him. Needless to say, Allen did not succeed. (Seem to remember a similar stunt on Trevor at the NA before... much more animated that one.)

It's easy Zonky - the bottom 3 are shite away from Hoddesdon(always will be now!), Chris Neath is still out with a gammy knee and we don't have Tai this season to keep the away scorelines respectable

After the first few races I thought I was going to have to turn traitor & cheer Rye to get some action.

Another thumping home win for the Stars at the Norfolk Arena, this time with Scunthorpe on the wrong end of a spanking: KING'S LYNN..621..T Topinka..3,2',3,3,3 = 14+12..K Smith..R/R 3..C Henry..2,1,1,1 = 54..S Schramm..1',3,3,3,2' = 12+25..E Sanchez..2',2',3,2,1 = 10+26..J Graversen..1,1,2',0,0 = 4+17..D Ward..3,3,3,3,2',3 = 17+18..D Mallett = DNRSCUNTHORPE..311..D Howe..2,2,6,0,1 = 112..C Wilkinson..0,0,0 = 03..S Lambert..3,0,1,2,0 = 64..V Bergstrom..0,1,0,2 = 35..M Karlsson..1,1,2,2 = 66..J Hart..2,0,0,0 = 27..B Bekker..0,0,1,1,1' = 3+1Taken from: speedwayupdates.proboards.comOne or two retirements for the Scorpions (Wilkinson had two and Lambert one, while he was wearing "black and white"), but realistically, it looks like they were hammered. Yet another hugely impressive performance - and a maximum - for Darcy Ward, while Topinka scored a maximum and only a mistake by Schramm in his opening ride spoiled his maximum chances.
