Press Release received as follows:
Unfortunately Wednesday night’s speedway meeting at King’s Lynn has been cancelled due to a floodlight technical failure. On Sunday evening during an event at the Norfolk Arena, the venue lost power to four out of their eight floodlights, the problem was diagnosed on Monday morning and due to be resolved first thing on Tuesday after the Bank Holiday, but the electrical engineers have encountered a setback in getting the repairs done in time.
Tony Hemeter of Hemelec Ltd said ‘the lights work off two banks of four and one of the circuit boards that controls one of the banks has blown, we planned to order a new one first thing Tuesday but because the floodlights are over ten years old and no longer in production we couldn’t find stock anywhere in the country, we then searched our network in Europe and thankfully found some used spares but the soonest we can get them removed from the old units, shipped and delivered is Friday’.
King’s Lynn Stars promoter, Keith Chapman, is in despair ‘It is such a shame because I know how much the fans were looking forward to this top of the table clash, it’s just as disappointing for me to as it was going to be one of our biggest meetings of the season with a bumper crowd, but it’s just simply to dangerous to race with half the lights out of action. I really hope we can get this meeting re arranged in the next week or two’.

Apparently because of a floodlight failure which happened at the weekend!!!! Running scared IMO ML, having read the statement, I don't think so. It's too detailed to be a con job, plus the fact that an electrical company are actually quoted instead of spin from the promoter. I think it's genuine.

Congratulations to King's Lynn on doing the double, after beating Edinburgh 99-92 on aggregate in the Premier Trophy. They'll now turn their focus to the KO Cup in the hope of extending it to three titles.
