With RUssia not taking foreigners in their clubs, maybe the days of big money are coming to an end? It will be a surprise if Nicki can find a Polish club at this late stage who can pay what he wants!

Danish media are reporting today that Nickis contract with Czestochowa is terminated. He currently stands without a team in Poland.

The days of riders calling the shots could be coming to an abrupt end. About bloody time too!! I know these riders put their neck on the line each time they take to the track, but some of them have been milking everything they could get out of the sport in recent years oblivious to what effect it's had. That said, the riders can't soley be blamed as promoters have also been unrealistic in what they've been offering as well. Some whinged & moaned that the Elite league was now the Delete league without the top GP stars, but at least the fans knew who'd be lining up for their team before the start of the season in the UK, how disaterous would it have been for sport in this country if we were now in a similar position to Poland with clubs possibly losing riders left right & centre. I admire Gollob for his reasonable approach. Yes he's made a lot of money out of speedway over the years, but I'd like to think that for the good of the sport he at least he seems to be able to grasp the bigger picture at the moment.

I've heard the same rumours. Nicki has been sacked by his Polish club, because he wanted too much money.

I've heard the same rumours. Nicki has been sacked by his Polish club, because he wanted too much money. His contract was negotiated ahead of last season - he had a two-year deal, which was why their was minimal talk of Nicki P during the close season. It appears that Czestochowa lost a key sponsorship and suddenly weren't in a position to meet the contract and sought to re-negotiate it - Nicki P demurred, as is his right. Rzeszow refused to bow to Nicki P's demands ahead of last season, Czestochowa obviously agreed to meet them and now they can't. I have no great sympathy with either party - Czestochowa should probably never have agreed to the contract in the first place. As things stand, Nicki P is likely to head to Prague with only the meetings he has done in the UK and a single meeting in Denmark under his belt.

Ah, it seems Nicholls has taught her a thing or two. I'm sure you can grasp the underlying message in that.

Okay, the salary reduction for both Nicki and Hancock was 50%. That's a serious pay cut. Greg has said in one of the Swedish papers about his own situation at Czestochowa:
The club has already given Nicki Pedersen permission to look for a new club, and now Greg Hancock wants to do the same. "I want to change clubs and I hope they let me go, just as they did Nicki. But I do not know what will happen."

With question marks over many of the top GP stars for one reason or another, the 50-1 about Emil looks increasingly interesting.
