For stuart road, from Nicki's website: Standing before the Slowenian GP, a GP that could give Nicki his second World title in his carrier, Nickis biggest concern is to stay focused. - Lots of people tells me, I have already won the title. To them I just want to say, it aint over until the fat lady sings. I have been too long in speedway to know, that things can happen. I mean, at the last GP in Bydgoszcz, I was lucky I could race after my crash in heat 8, and at the same time Leigh had a bad day - but what if things have turned out otherways - what if I could not have continued (I tell you, it was close) and Leigh was up front - no for me it aint over before the figures tells me, that I'm the one - that's the way I try to keep my focus, Nicki says. Since the last GP in Bydgoszcz, Nicki has not been out racing. Does he feel a little rusty? - No, I don't think so. Of course I would have preferred to race one or two matches before coming to Slowenia, but that was simply impossible. The good thing is, that my body is allright now, and I know the boys have been working hard with my bikes, so no excuses from here - now it's up to me, and I like that way. thanks schumi, thats good to hear,i dont want to be 'lumping on a lame duck'

18 points are all Nicki needs to become World Champion tonight, and every point Leigh Adams fails to score brings that total down.
Nicki Pedersen World Champion 2007. What a lovely ring that has to it.

And didn't some of us say he was a contender despite others that said Crump was top favourite.I distincly remember before the season started saying it was like someone winning a set 6-0 in tennis and then losing the next one. They all start from scratch each season and it is very hard to defend a title.Nicki will find that out next year ;D

Remind me if I was one of "us"? Ya know, I don't think Nicki will see it like that. Honestly think he'll just take each race as it comes. Had you asked me a couple of years ago I would have said different, but he's pretty much the polished article this year - and if he's not quite perfection now, imagine what he'll be like with another season behind him. He'll be unstoppable.

Saturday night in Krsko Slovenia, worlds best Nicki did, what he had been dreaming of since 2003 – winning the World Championship in speedway for he second time in his carrier.
“It's fantastic, it's my biggest dream that comes true. I've worked so hard for this to happen to prove that the title I won in 2003 not just was a one timer. Now I've proved that for myself and everybody else, and it gives me an unbelievable feeling of satisfaction. My team have been outrageous all season and all the boys deserve a big hug, without them I could not have done what I have done this year. All I can say is, that we have been better than everybody this year – for that I'm so thankful, Nicki says. From Nicki's website. And Eric Gundersen's words: Former World Champion Erik Gundersen, former three times World Champion has no doubt when asking, what he thinks of Nickis performance this year.
“Nicki deserves this Championship so much. No one in the field could match him this season – and I don't even think that Nicki has reached his full potential yet. There's is no doubt that he has improved his riding skills. And this, combined with a really strong tactical sense is a package very hard to beat. Mentally Nicki was always been very strong, this year he managed to combine his will to win, with his experience and his talent, and a hard working team. I'm sure Nicki will be upfront the next couple of years, if he can keep focused, and avoid to many of those hard crashes, that drains the body, Erik Gundersen says.

Well done Nicki P, you have been absolutely fantastic this season and thoroughly deserve the world title. And didn't some of us say he was a contender despite others that said Crump was top favourite. I said he was a contender for this season, but then so did most of us Eagles. Whenever I suggested it to away fan, they told me it was between Crump and Andersen. I even had a Coventry fan tell me Nicholls had more chance of winning the world title than Nicki. I so wish I was able go to Arlington on saturday.

I was fortunate enough to witness Nicki clinch his second title first hand, and like most of the other GP's this year, he was a class above. Good on yer Nicki, I wish our sport had a few others like you.

I so wish I was able go to Arlington on saturday. It's not a million miles away mimi, so go for it..........trust me, you'll regret it if you don't. It's not every day you get the chance to welcome the World Champion home to your club after all. My biggest regret is not going to Poland in 1976 for the World Final.......... you can't put a price on a day like that, so go for it mate.

In Sundays play off match in the polish Extra League, Nicki crashed in his first heat - and unfortunately so unlucky, that he now suffers from a concusion.
Nicki was after the crash taken to the hospital in Wroclaw, where the doctors did several examinations. Luckily it seems, that Nicki do not suffer from any other injury than a concusion.
Luigi Barath, Nickis hungarian mechanic in Poland escorted Nicki to the hospital, and he tells about a Nicki, that was quite confused right after the crash. - Nicki did'nt really know what was going on right after the crash, but after a while he began making jokes abut his accident, so I think he will fie again, Luigi says.
Monday Nicki takes a plane directly to his physiotherapist in Denmark.
Also Nickis teammate, Davey Watt suffered a big crash and was sent to the hospital in Wroclaw with back problems.

The day after his crash in Poland, that send him to the hospital in Wroclaw, Nicki still suffers from a concusion.
- I have quite a headache, and my physiotherapist tells me, that I have to be careful, because my head was hit quite hard. Right now I'm not sure how things will work out. I really hope I'm ready to race in the weekend, but right now I really don't know, Nicki says.
Also Nicki's shoulder and two of his ribs were hurt in the crash.

NICKI Pedersen has been ruled out of all racing until the German Grand Prix a week on Saturday. Pedersen had been recovering well from his heavy crash in the Polish Grand Prix, and clinched the World title next time out in Slovenia. But last Sunday he was concussed in another accident, this time in the Polish play-off clash between Rzeszow and Wroclaw, and he will now miss out until October 13. Pedersen said: "I'm not feeling good at all, the worst thing is actually that I'm quite dizzy all the time. "I'm really sad that once again I have to withdraw from meetings I was looking forward to. But I know I might crash once again and risk my health. I'm too experienced to take a risk like that." From www.speedwayworld.tv
