Nah you're wrong Genghis imo, every race where there are no passes or close chases after the 1st lap 2nd bend is bad for the sport. The sport would market itself if every race was a great race imo. I admire every rider out there, I know it's not as easy as they make it look but they want to have the chance to win races when they miss the gate etc and it's up to the promoters to provide a track where they can do exactly that! It will be interesting to see just what sort of action the Workington track gives this season, I'd like to think fantastic as the base of the track will not be hard as hell and there is plenty of material on it too, sounds like perfect conditions for plenty of passing ............... we'll see eh

I mean, you just cast your mind back to that SWC Final at Leszno and you see how magnificent the sport can truly be. Now, obviously, not every meeting can be that good, but most meetings over here don't have a millionth of the action that had.

I mean instead of people recounting how many passes in all there were today at Poole, IF the product was right it would have been something like "WOW what a fantastic meeting, the racing was top class" ...................... but no

What you have to remember, young trees, is that genghis counted the number of passes (after the second bend) in that SWC Final - I think he came up with 75. The rest of us were just in awe of some classic speedway.

The rest of us were just in awe of some classic speedway. It was on the TV and they show replays of the races - so it's easy to count the number of passes. To aid writing match reports for Oxford meetings, I started recording passes. And it becomes a habit, so I then started doing it for other meetings too. You need to write it down as you go along - as otherwise your memory confuses things.

Some might say - not me, of course - that you're round the bend.
