A tiny minority of people "get" speedway these days. And they don't mind what's served up on track. If speedway wants to broaden it's appeal then it has to serve up a lot better action on track. I've never been in the speedway for speedway's sake camp and probably IMO we need to get away from

Fishnets do nothing for me. Depends who is wearing them . Lorraine Kelly in fishnets and suspenders and stillettos and nothing else , clutching a pint of John Smiths - sorry my imagination is running wild . I'd have that bird who's doing Bionic Woman, what's her name, you know her that was in Eastenders. What a pair of legs & a pair of ......... you know what i mean

And here's a little bit of evidence that suggests suspenders are a possible with Ms Kelly: www.youtube.com/watch?v=bAwVUVmTNqs

Hmmm, that's debatable, we haven't been Arena Essex since 2006.

You're one of those whingers that Witch was on about, aren't you? Only Witch could answer that accurately. But I am a stickler for accuracy.

Being serious for a minute . A well prepared track with an even spread of dirt would go a long way to selling the sport . And do we need to shroud the sport in secrecy as far as the rules go . When Ross Brady injured himself this week , none of us were really sure where Glasgow stood as far as , could they use r/r or not . Some thought they knew the rule till they discovered it had been changed . It's a simple sport that has been turned into a red-tape nightmare by the sports rulers . Anyway back to the inovative ideas . Fast food outlets on every bend , free beer nights for the more humdrum meetings , naked cheerleaders , Shane Parker never to retire , Glasgow and Edinburgh only to race each other twice a season . Not rocket science . ;D

I stood through some poor racing last year at Glasgow , Edinburgh , Berwick and Newcastle . Edinburgh won an award for their track last year , but on some ocassions it was barer than a baby's arse . I've seen meetings at Berwick where i've filled my programme in after the second bend . I've saw meetings at Glasgow and Newcastle where if a rider drifted too wide, the bike would stop dead in the mounds of dirt . I passed smoother looking ploughed fields along the A69 one night , than the track at Newcastle . Tracks have to be prepared properly , and i know sometimes the weather makes that difficult , for all riders - not just the home riders . In years gone past i've went down to Workington and it's been like a motorway . Two years ago , Stoneyless Workington at the time , the track was beautifully smooth and with just the right amount of dirt . So tracks should be professionally prepared , not just on the sayso of the star home rider ( and before anybodys jumps up and down i'm well aware Shane Parker does that ) . 2002 and 2003 the Glasgow track was superb , the racing was excellent - it has been a gradual decline since then . Time to get the tracks done properly .
