Subedei should be on there as an option. We suggested that in another thread. I also in addition, suggested that he might be asked for an interview by Sophie and that being the case would he 'give her one'. I think he told me to 'fuck off' or something along those lines... ;D ;D

Subedei should be on there as an option. Good lord, no. What would happen if Graham Flint was the referee? "And now to Sophie in the pits, for an interview with Subedei" "Er... Jonathan... Subedei seems to have left the stadium" ;D ;D

Is it not about time we lost this Team GB nonsense anyway . The riders from the other home nations aren't currently good enough to ride at that level . So let's just call them England and give us Scots someone to support in the World Cup .

I believe there's some FIM red tape in the way, but where there's a will, there's a way. After all, Scotland did complete in both the World Pairs and World Team Cup during the 1970s. Currently, the Scots would get knocked out of the World Cup in the qualifiers, but who cares, you'd have a team to support. And who knows what could happen in the future. As far as home-grown test matches go, you can't get bigger than England vs Scotland (sorry Wales, but it's true), and if Scotland were good enough one day to take on the English at Speedway, it would be a real crowd puller.

Yes i remember the times when Jim McMillan , George Hunter , Bert Harkins and Bobby Beaton were competing in the World Pairs and World team Cups . At the moment a Scotland team would comprise of William Lawson , James Grieves , Ross Brady , Sean Stoddart and Andrew Tully . Not going to trouble the world super powers i know , but gaining experience in the qualifiers against the likes of Italy , Austria , Croatia , Slovenia etc would be a great learning curve for some of our lads . The only way we can emerge as a speedway nation is to be competing as a nation .

A silly game. I can't think of any major English/Welsh wars over the years, but there was plenty between England and Scotland. And the Romans didn't build an equivalent of Hadrian's wall for Wales, did they? Scotland is much more of a seperate nation than Wales, and there's much more of a rivalry between England and Scotland, than England and Wales. An England vs Scotland speedway test series would be fantastic, hopefully a few of the young Scots will progress far enough to make it a reality.

Obviously the job should go to Mike Smillie. ;D But my vote is for Peter Oakes.

England 19 Wales 26 Genghis - I'll say no more! ;D ;D That's only Rugby, though, Bryn. A silly game. You're only saying that because you cannot understand, let alone appreciate its complexities Genghis - probably because you spent far too much time watching Dr Who, Blakes 7 and the like. And also because England are no good at it!

Say LW. His name is not quite in keeping though with his personality is it. I am not doubting your very valued word that he is capable of being a good manager but does he ever smile? ;D We know a song about this don't we Billy... ;D

Lol Jim. The post was a joke. One of the main reasons I'm looking forward to the new season is because we no longer have Mr Gorml Smillie at the helm. No way would I wish him on Team GB. ;D My opinion of him is well known on these forums.

I knew that: just wanted to post how special you are... Hope you had a lovely Mothers Day LW. And that all your 'brood' made it a very special day for a special lady... You deserve it.

You're only saying that because you cannot understand, let alone appreciate its complexities Genghis - probably because you spent far too much time watching Dr Who, Blakes 7 and the like. And also because England are no good at it! Bryn - it's true I'm no big fan of Rugby - every time it starts to get interesting, they stop and have yet another fucking scrum. And whilst I may not watch it that often, I am slightly curious regarding your comment that "England are no good at it". Even as a non-fan, I can't help but notice that England have reached three World Cup Finals, including the last two, something that Wales have never done. You might shout about irrelevant matches such as Six Nations, but when it comes to the important stuff (i.e. World Cup), it seems England kick Wales's arses every time. ;D
