As the post's that have been on the BSF site,Speedway WILL carry on without us & Cov......................Is it worth it??? I have managed to stay quite positive until now, I have to say spencebel. I must admit my heart sank this morning when I saw the fixtures were out. However, that is not definitve by any means - apparently there were 2 fixture lists and I'm sure if something were to change dramatically in the next few days then the new one could be applied ! I still have a glimmer of hope inside me, but sadly that is fading fast. More rumours flying about that Coventry are still in talks, and that Sky are wanting 10 teams...but who knows what to believe any more.... Are you going on Sunday? Will be interesting to see what is said then....

On official website now.... IMPORTANT MEETING: THIS SUNDAY PETERBOROUGH fans will continue their fight to keep speedway alive at the East of England Showground this season. Supporters have called for a show of strength with a public meeting at the track on Sunday (February 27th) starting at 10 o’clock in the morning. The Panthers Plea for Sanity No. 2 meeting is the second time that fans have gathered to express their fears and concerns about the winter events which have seen the Panthers and Elite League champions Coventry excluded after a fall-out with other members of the British Speedway Promoters’ Association. Representatives of the Peterborough management team will be in attendance and it is also hoped that Coventry co-promoter Allen Trump, who has represented both clubs in the legal negotiations with the BSPA will also be there. Exclusive: Bees grab final league lifeline COVENTRY Bees started last ditch talks with the British Speedway Promoters Association (BSPA) this week in a bid to retain the club's Elite League status, The Observer can reveal. A statement released towards the end of last week by the BSPA had seemingly brought the long-running stalemate between the Bees, Peterborough Panthers and the BSPA to an end. The statement confirmed lengthy negotiations between the BSPA and the clubs had failed to resolve the row over changes to the league's rules and regulations, and with the new season set to start next month, the BSPA confirmed both clubs had missed the chance to compete in the Elite League this season. But speaking exclusively to The Observer, Bees co-promoter Alun Rossiter confirmed the club had started fresh talks with the BSPA this week and an announcement on the Bees' future in the league could be made within the next few days. "We are still talking to the BSPA behind-the-scenes," Rossiter said. "There's still a small glimmer of hope if these talks turn out to be positive. "Even though the fixtures have been released, there's still the possibility of slotting us in, but it's just a glimmer so we don’t want to fill the supporters with false hope. "We will have to wait and see what happens over the next few days," he added. "If these final talks deteriorate than I am afraid that is it for this season, but we all know it would be better for speedway if we were racing in the league this season." Rossiter admitted he was "gutted" when the BSPA confirmed the Bees and Panthers had missed out on entry to the Elite League this season, but he credited the reaction of the Bees' riders who had hoped to defend their league title this season. "I was gutted when I found out there would be no speedway at Brandon this season," Rossiter added. ""I was given the horrible task of telling the riders too, which was not a nice scenario. "They have not known what has been going on behind the scenes and it was a very difficult thing to do. "But credit to them, because they have been fantastic throughout the whole process despite knowing at the end of all this they might not have a job." And the "hokey Cokey" starts again taken from BSF: Trump @ NSSC
We are very pleased that Allen Trump has agreed to be our next guest speaker at NSSC this coming Tuesday 1st March. I am sure with the situation we find ourselves in you will have many questions.
Chilvers Coton Liberal Club, Henry St, Nuneaton 0
Seems whilst the Bees are trying to negotiate a return to the EL even at this laste stage, someone has forgotten to tell Trump

Panthers boss unaware of any last-ditch talks
Published on Sat Feb 26 09:30:00 GMT 2011
Peterborough Panthers team boss Trevor Swales says he is unaware of any last-ditch talks with the British Speedway Promoters’ Association (BSPA) taking place.
The city club were told late last week that they and reigning champions Coventry would not race in 2011 after an acrimonious winter battle against the authorities.
But now Coventry team manager and co-promoter Alun Rossiter has told the Midlands media that the Bees have been involved in ‘behind-the-scenes talks’ with the BSPA, even though the Elite League fixtures have now been published without the two exiled clubs.
But that came as news to Swales, who said: “I am certainly not aware of any sort of last-ditch talks taking place.”
Swales has however confirmed his attendance at the ‘Panthers Plea for Sanity 2’ fans rally to be staged at the Showground tomorrow (10am start).
Organisers are desperate for speedway to continue in the city and hope to attract more than 300 supporters to the event.
Members of management from both Panthers and Coventry have been invited although Peterborough co-owners Rick Frost and Julie Mahoney are understood to be away.
Swales added: “I will be at the Showground tomorrow and I will be prepared to answer any questions from fans that I possibly can.

It seems someone must have let Swales in on the secret now, because 24 hours after 'knowing nothing', he now seems to 'know something'. !!! Skip to 4.15 www.itv.com/anglia/fullprogramme/
