I fail to see how the Board of Motor Club Ostrow can impose this kind of ban on foreign riders......they may have enough influence to make the ban stick in Poland, but how can they stop Chris Harris (for example) who rides on an ACU license, riding in the British Elite League.......it's unworkable.
I have to admit though, the article does say just that!

Guys, surely it means any league in Poland. It says: "This means that the speedway riders named will not be able to take off not only in the Polish league, but also in foreign leagues." And read the comments - some are asking if that means Harris can't ride in the GPs.

Why should we listen to the Poles? They can't stop anyone (other than a Pole) from riding in this country. It's about someone told the Poles to fuck off.

Makes you wonder if the BSPA made a similar ban, how much the Poles would stick to it? i'm thinking...like not one iota? They reallydo have a high opinion of themselves over there don't they?

I am sure all the UK based riders will tell the Poles where to go, it won't cost them much will it? Poland pays the money so calls the tune!

I am sure all the UK based riders will tell the Poles where to go, it won't cost them much will it? Poland pays the money so calls the tune! The point is that Poland (having banned them) will not be paying their money, so the UK based riders will have nothing further to lose by ignoring the Polish authorities and continuing to ride in the UK, Sweden and Denmark. The alternative would be to sit it out for two years and earn nothing, and my guess is that none of them will do that! In fact what could happen is that Karol Zabik and Patrick Pawlaszczyk apply for an ACU or Svemo license and base themselves in Britain or Sweden and also stick one finger up to the Poles!

The situation in Ostrow continues to descend into chaos and it seems unlikely that the club could make these sanctions stick, especially with regard to the foreign riders. And it is worth remembering that these sanctions are being imposed by the club, however, if the PZM get involved and support the sanctions against the Polish riders it would be unlikely that the ACU would grant licenses to the likes of Zabik and Pawlaszczyk. And after his weird experiences on these shores, why would anyone want Zabik riding on an ACU license?

I think they'd find it hard to justify refusal of a license to either of the Poles on the basis of events in Ostrow seeing as they have already licensed Chris Harris, who played an equal part in the debacle.........it would never stand up in court should the riders wish to take it that far!!

No mention of Robert Miskowiak fortunately. A very interesting point Badger seeing as how Miskowiak was programmed to ride for Ostrow that night.......I fail to see how he can have escaped the same punishment as the others, and I'm sure he hasn't!!!
