Former Grand Prix rider Lee Richardson would have no qualms about returning to Lakeside on loan after leading the Hammers to their first ever Elite League trophy this term. The Team Great Britain international helped the club defeat Coventry in the Knock-Out Cup Final last month. This was Lakeside’s first silverware since their decision to enter the British top flight in 2004. Richardson is owned by Swindon, but with Leigh Adams set to return to Blunsdon again in 2010, the Brit knows he may have to look elsewhere. Having achieved great success with the Hammers, the 30-year-old, who will also race for Elit Vetlanda in Sweden next year, admits he would be interested in spending another campaign in Essex. He said: “Obviously, Swindon own me, but given my average, there is not a lot of chance of me going back there. “I would love to stay at Lakeside if the possibility arises. Swindon have first refusal on me and I’d obviously like to go back there one day. “But that won’t happen because as long as Leigh Adams is racing, that won’t be possible. It isn’t possible to fit both of us in and pick a good team as well.” speedwaygp.com/en/newsdetail/a823?SID=ddd7caec0076a143a3a275a02fb95823

Now on BSPA site.. *HAMMERS IN SHOCK KK SWOOP* *Friday November 20, 2009* KRZYSZTOF Kasprzak is on his way back to Lakeside – two years since he last rode for the Hammers. The Pole replaces Lee Richardson after doubts were cast over his availability from parent club Swindon. Said Kasprzak: “I’m very happy to be going back to Lakeside as I like the track, the riders and the fans. It’s nice to be working with Stuart Douglas and Jon Cook again.” (From www.british-speedway.co.uk/news.php?extend.5632.2)KK IN, RICO OUT Polish racer Krzysztof Kasprzak has completed a surprise move to Lakeside after Hammers’ efforts to bring Team Great Britain star Lee Richardson back to the club broke down. The Essex outfit looked set to sign Richardson for a second year on loan from his parent club Swindon. This was until the Hammers reportedly received a phone call from the Robins on Wednesday afternoon, informing them the rider was no longer available. So Lakeside moved quickly to secure a deal for Kasprzak. The 25-year-old last raced for the team in 2007, before having a brief stint with parent club Poole in 2008 and riding for Belle Vue last season. The former World Under-21 champion, who helped his country to Speedway World Cup glory earlier this year, was delighted to make his Hammers return. He told the club’s official website: “I am very happy to be going back to Lakeside. I like the track, the riders and the fans and it’s good to be back with (promoters) Stuart (Douglas) and Jon (Cook) again. “I was using the Club’s workshop in Hemel Hempstead last season and it’s good to be able to keep my set up there and ride back with the Hammers.” Cook admits he was keen to bring Richardson back to the Arena-Essex Raceway for 2010. But he had no qualms about taking Kasprzak on loan from Poole once it was clear signing the Brit was no longer an option. He said: “Speedway can be pretty crazy at times. Once we learnt that Krys was looking for a change this year we agreed a deal within an hour. “We had no reason to think that Lee would not have been available to us and had agreed a deal. But those circumstances changed and to be able to bring Krys back to the club was then a no-brainer. “I hope that we see Lee racing in the Elite League and pass on our thanks to him for a superb year of service. It’s a shame matters ended in the way they did, but we appreciate that’s the nature of the business. “It’s great to have Krys back as time and again he has shown his liking for our circuit. Both he and his sidekick, Mark Courtney, will again add to the great team spirit we have enjoyed.” (From speedwaygp.com/en/newsdetail/a857)

Lakeside announced new asset Daniel Davidsson as next signing for 2010 Think we have a theme starting for the peskies...KK now DD double initials he has been involved in a swap deal with Ricky Kling and Poole, who will not be using Ricky themselves this season due to the fact that he had already agreed a deal with Eastie. www.poolespeedway.net/09-website/news.php

Poole, who will not be using Ricky themselves this season due to the fact that he had already agreed a deal with Eastie. More likely 'Poole will not be using Ricky themselves this season on account of the fact he's absolutely crap.

I know there'll be one or two raised eyebrows at this one, but if Jonas signs, I do think he'll do better than at Poole. Daniel always seems to ride well against his brother - maybe it's sibling rivalry, maybe it's the two of them helping each other, but whatever it is, it should benefit Daniel tremendously. Edit: actually, the Hammers' press release seems to indicate Jonas has also signed: www.lakesidehammers.com/latest/011209.asp

You know what I mean. Seems being on the same track as his brother is beneficial for Daniel.
