Well they can't have a facility until he's ridden a meeting, can they? The season will have started and THJ ridden for Swindon before his ban comes in to force. But what they will do to cover him, use the number 8? My understanding is that THJ's ban is for the first month of the Swedish season, so as ML says, he should already have ridden for Swindon before that starts. If that is the case, then I believe the rule is that they must use their No.8 if available, or they can have a guest from the PL with an average of less than 6.

I don't get the big fuss over Jonasson - hugely over-rated rider (perhaps even more over-rated than unSteady) and totally unreliable, unless you're a Polish club.

Taken from swindon website
THE FOLLOWING STATEMENT has been issued regarding Swindon Asset, Troy Batchelor.
Troy was very much part of our team building plans for 2010 until he ruled himself out of the equation.
Having decided against a return to Swindon he has been made available for transfer and only those clubs meeting our valuation will be given permission to speak to the rider.
No fee has been agreed with the Peterborough promotion and consequently permission to approach the rider has not been given.
Until such time as this criteria has been met Troy Batchelor remains a Swindon asset and will not ride for another club.
We are, therefore, very surprised to learn that the Peterborough promotion have announced him in their team for 2010.

I recall Peterborough being surprised that Hans Andersen had been announced by Poole. This is just so much huffing and puffing from Swindon, who themselves rather offended the Edinburgh promotion with their cavalier approach for Thomas H Jonasson. In both instances, the riders are hardly worth the candle.

ROBINS LEGEND RETURNS
Swindon skipper Leigh Adams will spend a 12th season with the Robins next year, and club owner Terry Russell admits it could be the Australian’s last ever campaign racing in Europe.
The 38-year-old was always set to be the Blunsdon club’s number one for 2010 and is now a confirmed starter after both parties finally agreed a deal.
Adams retired from Grand Prix action at the end of last season and will now focus on racing for the Robins in the Elite League and Leszno in the Polish Ekstraliga.
The Australian legend, who first rode in Swindon colours in 1990, led the club within inches of their first league title for 42 years last season.
But Adams was left heartbroken as the Robins lost out to second-placed Wolverhampton, despite finishing top of the Elite League table.
This is something Russell is keen to make up for next year and he pledges to do everything possible to help Robins’ highest all-time point-scorer lift the championship trophy before he retires.
He told the Swindon official website: “I’m sure Swindon fans will be very happy to have Leigh Adams captaining the side once again in 2010.
"Obviously, it’s great to have him as a confirmed starter in what could well be his final European season. It's not just Leigh’s on-track presence that’s so important; it’s what he offers the whole squad off track too.
"Of course, Swindon is the natural place for Leigh to ride his British league speedway, and from speaking to him I know he’s more determined than ever to secure silverware in 2010.
"Naturally, the club will do everyone possible to help him achieve domestic glory as we aim to make the 2010 campaign one to really remember.”
Adams is joined in the Swindon starting septet by Swedish prospect Thomas H Jonasson.
However, Robins have been forced back to the drawing board with their team building plans after club asset Troy Batchelor rejected a return to Blunsdon and signed for Peterborough.

Now that Swindon is twinned with Disney (no really!!) will its Speedway team be known as the Mickey Mouse Robins. ;D Not sure, but their team manager has been Dopey for some time now. Nice one!!!, here's a couple of newspaper articles: Robins fume over Troy transfer
ALUN Rossiter has slammed Peterborough’s transfer antics after the Panthers announced Troy Batchelor as part of their 2010 line-up.
The 22-year-old Queenslander was put up for sale by the Robins at the end of last month, but Swindon claim that Peterborough have announced him as their rider without agreeing a fee.
A statement on the Robins website said: “No fee has been agreed with the Peterborough promotion and consequently, permission to approach the rider has not been given.
“Until such time as this criteria has been met, Troy Batchelor remains a Swindon asset and will not ride for another club.”
Robins are believed to want in the region of £30,000 for the Australian, and boss Rossiter explained: “We put a figure on his head and they came back with a ludicrous offer, a pittance of an offer for someone of his calibre.
“They were hiding behind the fact they thought he belonged to Kings Lynn, but he’s not Kings Lynn’s, he’s ours.
“They have done a deal behind our back which is against protocol.”
Rossiter said Peterborough made their transfer offer on the same day that they announced Batchelor’s signing, and added: “We’re a little bit disappointed with the way this has been handled.
“There are ways of going about things and they seem to be steamrollering that, and it’s wrong.
“They are hiding behind this smokescreen that they didn’t know who owned him.”
The matter is currently being dealt with by the management committee of the British Speedway Promoters’ Association.
It is possible the disagreement could be referred to an arbitration panel of the Speedway Control Bureau, but it is hoped this will not be necessary.
The full statement on Swindon Robins’ website said: “Troy was very much part of our team building plans for 2010 until he ruled himself out of the equation.
“Having decided against a return to Swindon he has been made available for transfer, and only those clubs meeting our valuation will be given permission to speak to the rider.
“No fee has been agreed with the Peterborough promotion and consequently permission to approach the rider has not been given.
“Until such time as this criteria has been met, Troy Batchelor remains a Swindon asset and will not ride for another club.
“We are, therefore, very surprised to learn that the Peterborough promotion have announced him in their team for 2010.”
Meanwhile, Rossiter revealed that Swindon’s team-building plans could move on soon, saying: “We’re nearly there, we’re just waiting on (Grzegorz) Zengota at the moment.
“Once that falls into place, then we can move on.”
Taken from the Swindon Advertiser. Batchelor: 'Stop playing games with my career'Peterborough Panthers capture Troy Batchelor has told owners Swindon to stop playing games with his career. The Australian ace fired the broadside at Robins co-owner Gary Patchett after finding himself stuck in the middle of a transfer squabble. Batchelor is one of five members of Panthers' 2010 team to already be unveiled, but Swindon claim the city club have never been granted permission to even discuss a move with him. The 22 year-old has put in a transfer request and Panthers chiefs are adamant he will be lining up at the Showground in 2010. They have seen one offer to buy him knocked back and the matter is now set to go to arbitration. Batchelor said: "I am a Peterborough rider and that's that. "I told Swindon that I wanted to go out on loan for a year but Gary Patchett said I would have to be sold. "I've put in a transfer request and I'm sure it will go to arbitration where a fair price will hopefully be set for me. "Speedway is my career and my future. I don't like people trying to wreck it by playing games." Batchelor received a warm reception from Panthers fans' when paraded at a fans' forum last week along with fellow new arrivals Lewis Bridger and Adam Roynon, and returning Danish duo Niels Kristian Iversen and Kenneth Bjerre. He added: "The Panthers fans gave me a great welcome the other night. I couldn't believe how packed the forum was and hopefully they were pleased I'm at the club. "But there is no problem between me and Swindon - the only problem I've had there is with Gary. "I have no bad feeling towards the fans or the people there whatsoever and I certainly didn't want to fall out with anyone." It appears that Cory Gathercole and Richard Sweetman will be sharing the double-up berth for the Robins next year!
