Okay, time to take a look at next year. There are a couple of changes to the qualifying format - with there being more cars on the grid, more will go out in Q1. But in better news the final session will once again be on a minimal fuel load. However, in the race itself, refuelling is banned.
Canada is back, Bahrain hosts the season opener, and Australia will be a twilight event, on at 7am for us in the UK. Should Donington fail to meet the deadline, the British GP will be back at Silverstone. Here’s the provisional calendar:
Mar 14 - Bahrain (Sakhir) Mar 28 - Australia (Melbourne) Apr 4 - Malaysia (Sepang) Apr 25 - Turkey (Istanbul) May 9 - Spain (Barcelona) May 23 - Monaco (Monte Carlo) Jun 6 - Canada (Montreal) Jun 27 - Europe (Valencia) Jul 11 - Great Britain (Donington Park) Jul 25 - Germany (Hockenheim) Aug 1 - Hungary (Budapest) Aug 22 - Belgium (Spa-Francorchamps) Sep 5 - Italy (Monza) Sep 19 - China (Shanghai) Sep 26 - Singapore (Singapore) Oct 10 - Japan (Suzuka) Oct 24 - Brazil (Interlagos) Nov 7 - Abu Dhabi (Yas Marina)
And in the driver market, Vettel is confirmed at Red Bull, whilst Alonso looks set to be at Ferrari – in which case I shall be burning all of my prancing horse t-shirts.

Can't Kubica do better than that?

Button signs for McLaren: As predicted by Genghis two years ago. ;D Considering you bombard us with a never ending stream of old bollocks Genghis, i suppose this can be considered tangible proof of the 'Infinite Monkey Theorem.

Yes, but Brawn brought it on themselves. They should have stopped fucking around and signed the mighty Button before the end of the season. Once he settles in, Button will benefit for moving to McLaren. The Mercedes team looks like a very insular one - Button is better getting out of there. I reckon it'll only be about a year before Ross Brawn himself departs.

Schumi - it would be a risky move. Remember Schumacher would be sitting in the car that won both the Drivers' and Constructors' championships in 2009. If he then failed to deliver, it would be difficult to blame what Button & Barichello proved was a fine car.

You will when both Hamilton and the mighty Button pass him in the opening race of the season. Having you been checking the Planet F1 website today? What a bitter and twisted individual that Fry bloke at Brawn/Mercedes is turning out to be. Hope the mighty Button makes him eat his words. ;D

Having you been checking the Planet F1 website today? I have, but after the words "Merc want Schumi for 2010" I couldn't concentrate on anything else.
