I always think it's a shame when a rider goes on too long - the classic example is Sam Ermolenko. People remember him a 43-year-old instead of the rider of 1985-1995. I remember Ermolenko's glory years - if Parker wants to carry on, let him carry on. He remains a wonderful sight in full flow, even if he no longer fancies mixing it with the Fishers of this world.

I remember Ermolenko's glory years So do I. But I also remember Ermolenko riding at reserve for Wolves and being humbled by riders who a few years earlier wouldn't have got anywhere near him.

I'm depressed beyond belief Decent enough meeting on a wet track , but it was back to the bad old days for us . Roll on winter Another off season of rebuilding, hope Dumb and Dumber can retain Conda and Scrabbleman and try and build on that, Lawson will probably be back at glasgow after that who knows. Maybe the priority is sort the track out.

Josh and Mitchell (who was very impressive at Scunny) are up-and-coming riders and will prove to be great assets in years to come. And William Lawson seems to have enjoyed himself at Ashfield, so I reckon he'll want to come back. Add in Conda and Grieves, and there's a good basis for a 2010 team there.

Its being going downhill for a few years now, ask Paulco. Granted scrabbleman looks the part, but sorry Davey still cant get a 4pt ave. Lawson will probably be back but will cost a fee. after that its looking like another torrid season unless they unearth some major talent, which given their form is unlikely. Will Conda be back next week, he has ridden this week in his home country?

He's worth persisting with - he won't get worse and could get a lot better. Meanwhile, Glasgow suffered a heavy defeat at Newcastle today. Seems that Parker is less than 100% fit - he has had some nasty knocks the last couple of seasons.

As for the Ashfield track - well it's much better than last year . Yes ok it is not nearly as good as the time when Doc Bridgett done it , but it still produces fast , entertaining racing . It might not be up there with Somerset and Scunny , but it far from being the worst track in the division .

Glasgow v Redcar Sunday 13th September 2009 – Premier League AT the above Meeting Glasgow utilised the Rider Replacement facility for the missing Rider Alesandra Conda.
This was in contravention of the Speedway Regulations as No Facility is permitted for a Rider delayed en-route to a Speedway Meeting.
The use of the Rider Replacement is therefore deemed illegal.
In accordance with SR 15.10.1 the result of this Meeting is amended by deducting those points scored by the rider replacement rides and adding the same to the Redcar total.
The result of this Meeting is now Glasgow 45 Redcar 48.
The Glasgow Riders Individual scores are:
Shane Parker 4 rides 3 + 1 Josh Grajczonek 4 rides 10 William Lawson 5 rides 9 + 1 James Grieves 5 rides 12 Mitchell Davy 4 rides 3 + 2 Lee Dicken 5 rides 8 + 1
Graham Reeve Consultant Administrator Monday 21st September 2009.

Paulco, why have the points been added back onto the Redcar score - that doesn't usually happen. Weird.

GLASGOW have completed a deal with Australian teenager Nick Morris to start his British career at Ashfield.
Morris cannot race for the Tigers in the Premier League until he turns 16 next June, but he will return to the UK at the beginning of the season.
Morris said: "I intend to get in as much practice as I can, and make it into the team at the earliest possible moment."
