But in this particular case, isn't it a double header? In which case, you can hardly blame Len, as it allows you to witness what should be a feast of speedway. A feast of speedway, at Rye House? It can happen. In 2005, a PL / CL double header at Rye was top entertainment. In fact, the second half, in which the Oxford Academy took a major step towards the CL title with a 46-44 win despite the absence of the injured Ben Barker, Jamie Courtney and Kyle Hughes, ending 50 successive home league matches for the Raiders, is probably one of the best meetings I've ever seen.

Right, time to pick a winner, although I'd point out that it needed Genghis to point out my responsibilities after I'd abjectly failed to notice I'd been nominated for the honour this week... Anyway, there were several contenders this week, just to point out a few of the more worthy. Firstly, the idiotic Harriet Harman who single-handed managed to alienate half the electorate (at least those that were still considering voting Labour anyway) with her ridiculous rant against male politicians. Secondly, the Edinburgh promotion for having the gall to charge 18 quid for a rained-off Premier League open meeting. Thirdly, BSI/Ole Olsen for organising yet another tedious GP. However, I found a more worthy nomination this week whilst doing some hurried research for this week's FOTW. Whilst browsing the BSF, I became increasingly annoyed by the numerous ridiculous and irrational threads on there. It's either the GP is good/crap, the barely cold Bobby Robson was good/crap, Mullard/Pearson are both crap, Subedei should be banned/unbanned, and a whole lot of petty slagging in between. However, the most annoying posts are those that attempt to be 'positive' about a sport that's become little more than a circus, particularly those that suggest we should simply be grateful for the pitiful fare we still receive. For that reason, this week's winner collectively goes to the BSF.

Others, like those on tight budgets will see it as an unnecessary extra £6 per head for something they really do not want to see. It would seem from BSF that quite a few fall into that category. There are also the fans that will not be able to make the earlier start time because of work/other commitments, will they be expected to pay £20 and possibly only see 6 heats of their own teams match? I'm not unsympathetic to promoters and rain-offs and the lack of dates, however fans have been saying for years that promoters don't care about them when it comes to rearranging matches, I doubt there is one member on here that has not been a victim of it and IMHO it's time the fans took a stand. I'm not trying to stop anyone else going and paying to watch both matches but I'm pissed off with some on BSF who seem to think we should all roll over and pay to watch matches we don't want to see or have no interest in. It's that kind of attitude that will eventually see the downfall of the sport. What do you expect any promotion to do SL when dates are at a premium? As for trying to police the event with people only coming in for a certain meeting is practically impossible not to mention the time that would be needed to make sure the stadium is emptied prior to the next meeting started! The only thing to blame is the bloody weather not the Rye House promotion. Secondly, the Edinburgh promotion for having the gall to charge 18 quid for a rained-off Premier League open meeting. The rained-off part is incidental

At very best there will only be 200 Lynn fans there, some of those may decide to watch both meetings, so say 100 fans maximum wish to leave. Simply a matter of having 100 x fivers and 100x £1 coins ready at turnstiles to had out in return for an admission ticket. Could all be done while they regrade the track/change over riders in the pits. Not that difficult is it?

I'd like to nominate Subedei for once again resorting to 'Snyperesque' personal insults when he and his arguments flounder in the face of good old common sense.

Oh dear, let's have a look at a hatcham post that preceded the post of mine referred to: Maybe by 'death race' rules, but this is speedway. The referee was correct, as was the ref who excluded Laguta for fencing poor Iversen at the weekend, and the one who excluded another of the mental Russians for sending Watt flying in the world cup, and the one who excluded Ashworth for causing carnage at Scunthorpe this season and the one who excluded the kid for getting lapped in the junior meeting at the same track. Face facts referees usually get it spot on, your just a lunatic. I'll take no fucking lectures from you over "snyperesque" insults, so climb down off your fucking high horse and let him that hath not sinned cast the first stone.

EDIT some people just ain't worth the bother. Why? Because I suggested you email the one person who can possibly do something about your plight? There is no point in just posting on a speedway forum about it if you really want something done hence the suggestion.

I assume Sub that your offence is taken at Hatcham's awful grammar. It's you're, not your. Now can we have some calm peeps - no need for all this animosity. Rico
