I only paid £15 for the World Cup the other week! Loved my trip to Edinburgh the other week but was a bit surprised to be charged £14 to get in. In fact for a family of 2 adults and 2 kids over 12, for example, it works out £2 dearer than Ipswich! Was still worth every penny though.

No doubt there will be some new contenders once the discussion starts on the BSF over what happened at the Isle of Wight tonight.
See my post in the NL, IOW section to find out what happened.

I would like to nominate the Poole Pirates riders. They obviously have nothing left to ride for, well join the club with us, but last night really brought speedway into disrepute quite frankly with the total lack of effort from the riders, Piotr and Holder not withstanding. If Fat Maud was worried about fan levels this season, these displays should basically abnkrupt him.

I see why Davidsson is nicknamed Davids00000n. He was awful.

Why is that worthy of a nomination? You haven't quite grasped what the flapperjack award is about, have you?

Why is that worthy of a nomination? You haven't quite grasped what the flapperjack award is about, have you? Fully aware what the FOTW is all about. I didn't nominate anyone in the post either. I said no doubt there will be some once the discussion on the BSF starts about what did happen. I can only assume because it was a NL meeting it wasn't worth mentioning that a bike flew into the crowd, hitting a woman and sending her to hospital. You must know yourself what some folk on the BSF are like. Some would have been arguing the toss and speedway is just too damn dangerous as a spectator these days. Those were the people who I was kind of getting at. It was, from the person I spoke to at trackside, a pure freak accident.

This is a general nomination but to keep it within this week I'll nominate Len Silver to accept it on behalf of all promoters who move fixtures to suit themselves and with no thought for fans who have made arrangements/booked leave/booked hotels etc to attend meetings and then at 7 days notice decide to ride against Birmingham next Saturday and stuff all the Lynn fans who were going to be there next week. Serve him and all other promoters right if the away fans said "Fuck you I ain't coming to your rearranged date"

A late nomination for Parsloes on BSF for his crass ill-timed comments on the Bobby Robson RIP thread.
Parsloes if you are reading this, you are a fucking cnut.

But in this particular case, isn't it a double header? In which case, you can hardly blame Len, as it allows you to witness what should be a feast of speedway.

I'm actually a little upset that I'll miss this feast of action, though I will have the small compensation of seeing the Monarchs in action at Berwick. Some of the complaints coming from the 6 fingered brigade on BSF are bordering on the ridiculous. Rico

In which case, you can hardly blame Len, as it allows you to witness what should be a feast of speedway. Apparently it will be a double header if and when someone in authority asks the Chapmans As for feast of speedway, some may well see it that way. Others, like those on tight budgets will see it as an unnecessary extra £6 per head for something they really do not want to see. It would seem from BSF that quite a few fall into that category. There are also the fans that will not be able to make the earlier start time because of work/other commitments, will they be expected to pay £20 and possibly only see 6 heats of their own teams match? I'm not unsympathetic to promoters and rain-offs and the lack of dates, however fans have been saying for years that promoters don't care about them when it comes to rearranging matches, I doubt there is one member on here that has not been a victim of it and IMHO it's time the fans took a stand. I'm not trying to stop anyone else going and paying to watch both matches but I'm pissed off with some on BSF who seem to think we should all roll over and pay to watch matches we don't want to see or have no interest in. It's that kind of attitude that will eventually see the downfall of the sport. Speedway in general won't lose out over my family's decision as we'll probably now go to a different away track to watch Lynn ride, so Uncle Lens loss will be anothers gain. I'm pretty sure there are ways around the problem, maybe one area kept exclusively for first match only fans (not easy I admit) or fans pay the whole £20 but are guaranteed a £6 refund as long as they present themselves at the turnstiles withing say 10 minutes of the first match ending. Likewise Birmingham fans allowed entry after the first match for £14......it just needs a bit of lateral thinking. Apologies for any typos this extra finger gets in the way at times
