Getting back to his obnoxious best I see . Why doesn't someone in his team tell him he is better than that, FFS he won the World Title when he stopped riding others off the track. Come on Pedersen get a grip. ( bloody Danes do my head in )

I'm still surprised there's been nothing said about Andreas not being excluded. Nicki would then have gained an extra point, meaning he had a pick of gates rather than being left with gate 4.

Monday morning Nicki will have an operation at Rigshospitalet in Copenhagen. Nicki had planned to participate in league meetings for Czestochowa (POL) and Lejonen (SWE) the coming week. But after talks with his doctor today he has changed his mind. - The new information I got today from the doctor means that I need an operation as soon as possible. The toxic substance from the burn wounds spreads in my body, and I am getting weaker every day, it is just like having a bad flu. Therefore it will not be fair to my clubs to participate in league meetings the coming week. Nicki says. The healing process will take up to 10 days, therefor there still is a small chance that Nicki can take part in the next GP in Daugavpils, August 1st. We will update about Nickis health during next week. www.nickipedersen.com

He's not going to win the World Championship this year (Crumpie is too far ahead), whilst there's no way they wouldn't seed him back in should he fail to finish in the top 8. He'd be better to let the burns heal properly and take a month off. This isn't like coming back early from a collarbone injury; second-degree burns are a serious business. If he tries to ride in the GP on August 1, he should be stopped by the GP medical officer for Nicki P's sake.

Updates: 20-07-2009
After 1 hour and 30 minutes on the operating table, Nicki states that allmost everything went according to the plan. The doctor decided, that the 4th burn wound also needed a skin transplantation.
The donorskin has been taken from Nickis left leg. (The same leg that was hurt in the crash)
- Of course I am a bit dizzy just after the operation, but I am happy it is well over and done with. Now I can look forward to at least 5 days in the bed here at Rigshospitalet in Copenhagen. Nicki says

A much more lively Nicki has today a few more details about yesterdays operation.
Doctor Søren Partoft has removed skin in the size of a small A4 paperformat. The skin was used to cover the 4 third degree burns on Nickis left leg. The plan is to take off the bandage during the weekend, and see if everything is ok.
- I just hope the recovering process will go according to plan, so I can be back on the bike as soon as possible. Nicki says. From: www.nickipedersen.com

If Nicki wants to win another world title he's going to have to do it without chief mechanic, John Jorgensen, who is going to a new job within a firm that specialises in selling and developing speedway equipment. John has taken the decision to move on so he can spend more time with his family, especially at weekends.

If Nicki wants to win another world title he's going to... ...have to try and get his mojo back from the Russian prodigy.

I'm surprised he lasted as long as he did TBH, the way Nicki treats his back room crew, he's been lucky they've stood by him this long.

Nicki's manager has said he won't be coming to ride in the UK next year. He's also said reports that Nicki has signed for Gorzow in Poland are untrue - that Nicki hasn't yet signed a contract in Poland, but should do before Christmas.
He's also looking for a new sponsor, as Fionia Bank has been taken over by another company (Nordea), and Nicki and his manager don't expect them to carry on the alliance.

Former world champion Nicki Pedersen is confident he has the team around him to launch another assault on the Grand Prix crown.
The Dane has already made two new additions to his pit crew for 2010 in British mechanic Robert Painter and Polish spanner man Tomasz Dolkowski. They will be joined by the Gorzow and Vargarna** rider’s manager Helge Frimodt and mental coach Lars Holm.
**Note: Nicki rides for Lejonen, not Vargarna.
With their expertise in his corner, Pedersen is certain he has everything he needs to launch an assault on the SGP title this term.
He told jv.dk: “I feel I have the best people around me. It's a good feeling to have because it gives me optimal conditions to perform, so there is simply no room for excuses.
“We are honest with each other throughout, and Lars and Helge are two people I really appreciate. They are a big part of my success.”
Holm will be unable to accompany the rider to every round of the World Championship due to his family commitments. But he believes Pedersen has what it takes to regain his place on top of the speedway world.
He said: “I am absolutely convinced that Nicki has a good chance to fight for the title this year. Had he not had so many accidents in 2009, he would have been involved in the battle for World Cup title with Denmark as well.”speedwaygp.com
