The third race of the season this weekend and Hamilton with his new diffuser topped the time sheets in first practise. Button then fought back and returned the compliment in second practise.
The atmosphere at Brawn GP, however, is a little tense after Button had a bit of a "set-to" with their sponsor, Richard Branson. Jenson seemed to think the enterpreneur was hitting in his girlfriend, which resulted in a row between the two. Let's hope someone's had a word with the pair of them, and that it's behind them going into the race weekend.
And finally, Ferrari are in trouble as Massa claims the removal of the temperamental KERS system has made the car "worse". Oh dear, sounds like excuses at the ready.

Jenson seemed to think the enterpreneur was hitting in his girlfriend, which resulted in a row between the two. He probably was - he's apparently notorious for such things. I actually wonder whether Virgin is giving Brawn GP any money at all, because Branson isn't known for giving his money away, and then only at a huge price to the recipients. Could it be some sort of deal to persuade other sponsors to sign up? In fact, I think Brawn GP have one other sponsor, and that's to provide team wear. Where is their funding coming from, and will they last the season without more sponsors?

The "bust-up" happened before the first race of the season, since when Branson has come forward to sponsor the team - so there doesn't seem to ill feeling. Meanwhile, Vettel is on pole, while the mighty Button must battle through from fifth on the grid.

The layers were very unimpressed with todays qualifications, they still make Button 5/4, have Hamilton second favourite at 7/1 with Vettel 8/1, they are also very dismissive of Webber who is widely available at 25/1

They've probably taken a look at the fuel loads and noticed that Vettel is fueled ridiculously light. The BBC's fuel-adjusted grid, with projected first pit stop in brackets, reads:
1..R Barrichello..(Brawn GP)..(lap 16) 2..J Button..(Brawn GP)..(lap 15) 3..J Trulli..(Toyota Racing)..(lap 16) 4..S Vettel..(Red Bull Racing)..(lap 10) 5..M Webber..(Red Bull Racing)..(lap 11) 6..F Alonso..(Renault F1)..(lap 8-9) 7..K Raikkonen..(Scuderia Ferrari)..(lap 19) 8..N Rosberg..(Williams)..(lap 12) 9..L Hamilton..(McLaren-Mercedes)..(lap 20) 10..S Buemi..(Scuderia Toro Rosso)..(lap 19)
No comedy moments from the guys in red on this occasion, which is a shame and a half.

Mind you, it'll not be much fun if Peter "bloody" Juul loses to the hapless Barbarian.

Juul , sadly , is showing no sign of being decent anywhere .

Why is Button so strongly fancied tomorrow when he is 5th on the grid ? i take onboard Subs point about weights, but then why is barrichello so easily dismissed ?

Barrichello has a tendancy to be erratic, increasing his chances of a DNF, but Button has a very smooth driving style. Ignore the clowns.
