Understandably Ippo fans are frothing at the mouth at the thought of Hampel returning to the UK in 2008. I wouldn't get too excited though as he didn't say he was returning to Ipswich did he?
I wasn't there but from the posts I've read on the enemies forum (Yes...I too am beginning to get frustrated with it) nobody stated he mentioned the word Ipswich.
Belle Vue enquired about his services over the winter and were told he wouldn't be riding here in 2007. Now who's to say that the BV management didn't negotiate a deal for 2008...after all we keep being told at BV that the management are planning for the future.

But there are also murmerings coming from Kirky Lane that they'd consider a drop to the PL next year. Hardly the actions of a club with Hampel in the bag imo.

I believe Jarek has said several times but recently and in the past that the only EL club he'd ride for would indeed be Ipswich.

In the "Around the Tracks" section of the Coventry programme yesterday, Hampel is quoted as saying: "We will have to see what the winter brings, but perhaps it is time I rode in British speedway again. And, if so, it would be for Ipswich. I still keep in touch with their results. I will decide in the winter and much will depend on how big the Ipswich fixture list is for 2008."

Well as he is No 2 to be asked to ride for us every season, I shall be very surprised 2008 will be any different TBH .Perhaps he might cover for Mark if he is not racing fit/completely healed come March. However, this might just be a hope for us pi$$ed off/fed up Witches fans after this season
