Several months ago i got a little inquizitive and asked about the BSPA rules on female riders. I found out that females are infact allowed to race as pros in british speedway teams. I know of one already who does/did race in the CL how long do you think it will be before we see a female in a PL EL side? I know a few female riders in NZ and seemingly Ryan Fishers wife doesnt lack skills on motorcycles especially a speedway bike.

I think it's more likely that if it happens in any country it'll be Denmark.

Anything that makes speedway more aesthetically pleasing is fine by me, speedway riders like all men are extremely ugly bastards, lets get some beautiful people involved. To start i suggest Bratters signs up Zonkers and her hot pants.

how long do you think it will be before we see a female in a PL EL side? It's already happened........ Jessica Lamb rode at PL level for Somerset in 2003.

Did she? how often? dont ever remember it. Yes she did.........albeit in only one meeting at Premier League level, but she was a regular in the Conference League, or whatever it was called in surrounding years.

When Scott Robson started his career with the cruel, crazy town's Bandits, I was told that Stuart Robson would be better than Scott and that the sister would've been better than both of them.

A few? i remember him crying about stormy because he beet him fair and square. Well he didnt beat him Tai thought he would be smart and go for a line that was never there. Then when the ref didnt side with the "child prodigy" he let his immaturity show with his on air tantrum.

There doesn't seem to be any reason in principle why there shouldn't be a female speedway rider, and Sabrina Bogh did win the Danish U21 Championship a few years ago. Unfortunately, I seem to recall she was forced to retire because of head injuries shortly afterwards. Nynke de Jong was/is also quite a decent grasstrack rider on the continent, and occasionally used to ride speedway as well. I think though, it comes down to a lack of strength in women, particularly as successful speedway riders tend to be lightly built. This factor shouldn't be underestimated.

Sorry but that is totally contradictory. If a successful speedway rider is lightly built then surely that would mean that the lightweight frame of a female would be perfect. Also how can someone that is so "lightly built" hold any real amount of strength? Im a little confused. I dont think a female with the right mindset would be muscled out by any males in a race.

If a successful speedway rider is lightly built then surely that would mean that the lightweight frame of a female would be perfect. I'm not a speedway rider, but I'd imagine it's a strength-to-weight ratio. The average male is significantly stronger than a female of a comparable size (sorry, but that's a biological fact), and a certain strength is undoubtedly needed to ride a speedway bike. A small male still has enough strength whilst not giving away excessive weight, but a female doesn't have the same advantage. I don't doubt there will be some females who would have the right combination of size, strength and ability, but given the small numbers who take up the sport in the first place, the odds of a female making it to being a top rider are much lower. That's probably why there has arguably only ever been one really successful female rider (Fay someone?) in the 80-odd years of the sport. It's the same with Lewis Hamilton. There has never been a black World Champion before, because there are almost no ethnic minorities in motor sport, and therefore the odds of someone being good enough to reach the top are much lower.
