I'll go with Wacks' suggestion. I work for the god-forsaken crap hole and I would admit that all my dealings with our Insurance area have been appalling! Most of the problem is caused by too much of it being outsourced or simply a Nationwide badge on another company's product. Oooogen, are you going to actually vote then? Why not Yeah, give it to Nationwide and the excuse of an Insurance service it provides. Not to mention it's shafting most of the IT staff at the mo too!

I've been sorting out life insurance recently and wondered why the guy from Nationwide kept phoning me to get it finalised. Found out when I got my policy through - he's on commission.

Not much voting going on so far folks.
Was there not a single flapperjack during the whole of January - it appears not.

Was there not a single flapperjack during the whole of January - it appears not. What about Phil Rising, who as editor of the Speedway Star, should surely understand the difference between slander and libel?

What about Phil Rising, who as editor of the Speedway Star, should surely understand the difference between slander and libel? Rising seems to have stopped thinking for himself; it's just too hard. So much easier just to think what BSI tell him to think. I hear he's had someone post on the BSF on his behalf decrying the "conspiracy theories" about the cancellation of the German Grand Prix, yet his own Speedway Star magazine contained an article in their post-Polish Grand Prix copy that said, word for word: "Incidentally, BSI Speedway are bemused by rumours circulating in Poland that the German Grand Prix would not go ahead. It will!" Oh dear, Mr Rising, did it?

I actually found his posts on the BSF quite enlightening, even if you seem to have done something to rattle his cage, Wibblemuis. EDIT: And Richard Clark is the current editor of the Speedway Star. I've never spoken to Phil Rising, but I have often spoken to both Richard Clark and Andrew Skeels and they are good blokes with speedway at heart.

Shouldn't you be declaring a conflict of interests, young genghis? After all, you do write articles for a certain magazine that has Mr Rising as "Managing Editor". Mind you, Mr Rising ought to declare his own conflict of interests, seeing as he is a lacky of BSI Speedway.

Subedei - I practically was admitting as much by saying that I have spoken many times to either Richard Clark or Andrew Skeels. Yes, I write for the Speedway Star, and I'm also a big fan of the magazine, and got all of them bar about 20, from its humble beginnings in 1952. Are you able to view the BSF as a guest? If so, the Speedway Star thread in general discussions is definitely worth a view - especially the posts from Tony MacDonald containing both his views and those of Phil Rising.

Yes, I can view the BSF as a guest, but I suspect that any posts made on behalf of Rising are just contemptible attempts to paint BSI as the best thing to ever happen to the sport. I well remember the valedictory address he gave on behalf of John Postlethwaite and BSI on the Reading forum after they'd been dumped in the brown stuff. The man gives every appearance of being in BSI's back pocket and this after his well-known opposition to the GP concept.

I'll wager he doesn't mention the pitance that BSI and the FIM pay the riders for racing in the GPs, or mention that the GPs are essentially subsidised by the leagues.

Well, the only real vote has come from Ooogen, so it looks like the winners are Nationwide.

Since there's not another thread open yet... I'd just like to contribute the following two words:
Steve Shovlar.
The 'Rob Lyons lacks the qualifications because hes not managed at EL level' attitude is pissing me off, along with the complete and total narrow-mindedness.

Don't worry about what he says Rhidassa, two days before Kyle Legault signed for Poole, Shovlar had hardly heard of him......two days after the signing he's waxing lyrical about the lad and predicting he'll be the best reserve in the EL. What Shovlar knows about speedway could be written on a postage stamp.
