I go for Ronnie o'sulivan thou he right that snooker is in a shit state to keep saying he going to quit the game that made him millions every time he go's the play a match bores the shit out of me . If he's going to quit just do it and get a job in a factory . I'll second that one. O'Sullivan gets right on my wick with his "poor little me" routine.

Lupus owes me a phone call! And probably my weight in chocolate for that remark. LR (AKA BA) Ah, but it could've been worse; she could've called you a "shit kicker". Now, could it be true that a band of delinquents in a car being driven by your husband hurled abuse at a "shit-kicking" 2CV while driving to or from a meeting? And could it also be true that you were stopped at traffic lights and driver of said 2CV decided to discuss the abuse with your bemused husband, who hadn't heard it due to listening to music? Guilty as charged (though couldn't swear to it being a 2CV)

Oh, I'd bloody laugh if she pulled the 2CV's car keys out of the fruit bowl. ;D Cruel. So, so cruel......

Has the winner been announced yet?
If not then my vote goes to Superace on the BSF. His piss poor spelling is making his posts difficult to read and his banging on about how naive I am towards Man City is just grating me now on.

Nationwide Building Society!!!!
Sorry this is going to be a long rant, but I'm fucking atonished with the lack of assistance from them at this moment in time.
My inlaws have their home insured with Nationwide and had the unpleasant experience of being burgled last night. Between my father in law & myself we've spent over 3 hours on the phone this morning trying to find out what he needs to do to register his claim & how he can get his home secured.
Every fecking phone number listed for the home insurance 24 hour helpline is answered with an automated message saying "due to an unforeseen emergency the office is closed at the moment, please call back at a later time".
After phoning every single number we could find for Nationwide, going through their infuckingfuriating automated voice responsive & push button systems I finally got through to a real live person!! Insurance claims not really his forte, had no idea why the 24-7 claims department wasn't responding but he could at least view my In-laws policy.
He could confirm they're fully insured so there shouldn't be a problem, but he advised that until the loss adjuster has been out to the property not to clear anything up! Yep that's right leave the broken glass thats all over the kitchen and trodden through other parts of the house as well as the copious amounts of mud which also cover the kitchen surfaces and the lounge & stairs floorings as it is! Amazingly I didn't lose my temper when speaking to this flapperjack when I asked him if he thought it was either safe or reasonable to expect people to live in the house with this debris lying around! I explained we'd take pictures of the damage and was tempted to tell him we would shove them up the loss adjusters arse if there weren't sufficient evidence!
We then phoned the Home Emergency helpline who we hoped could arrange for the house to be made secure. Again the same "due to an unforseen emergency blah blah blah" message, but at least this time one of the automated services transferred you through to another company who deal with out of hours services who could arrange for the damaged windows & doors to be made secure. Lovely lady at the end of the phone who has arranged for local tradesmen to contact my inlaws so they can arrange with them directly when to come out secure the property once the forensic lot have done their bit. And true to her word, a lock smith had called within 20 minutes.
Best bit all all though was that this "servicing" company who are taking the diverted calls from Nationwide's 24-7 insurance helpline were able to tell me that the helpline wouldnt be operational again until Monday. Apparantely the "unforseen emergency" is actually a staff training day!! All I can imagine is that their claim staff really are shit if it's deemed an unforeseen emergency for them to close the whole department for 2 days.

Unfortunately Wacks your experience is a common one, my wife is an insurance broker and is always extolling the advantages of using a broker over going direct, they all appear to be incompetent.

Really Hatcham? I guess I've just been lucky in the past then with my insurers (Direct line).
We've been burgled twice. No quibbling, no loss adjusters just sent off the receipts for lock replacements etc, told to go out & buy like for like for what was stolen, sent off the receipts for these items too and got a cheque back within a month.
Same thing when my car was rear ended, no hassle in getting it repaired, hire car sorted out via the other persons insurance company. Other than the fact the accident happened, no real inconvenience at all.
You insure your property or your belongings because if anything happens to them you want to make sure your inconvenienced as little as possible. All that todays experiences with NW have done is add to their stress and upset.

Sorry to hear of your in-laws plight Wacks Once it's all done and dusted get them to change insurers then send a letter explaining why ie due to their complete incompetence.

Unfortunately ML they'll probably be stuck with Nationwide now. As we found out when we got burgled, unless they're prepared to pay a much higher premium no other insurance company will want to insure them for at least the next 3 years.
Things got worse today before we got some form of resolution with my inlaws house finally being made secure at 8:30pm tonight, god only knows how much we're spent on phone calls today with every number called being 0845 etc. I hope their staff training weekend incorporated dealing with customer complaints, they're going to need to call upon some form of knowlege/experience in dealing with irate customers when they finally crawl back into their offices Monday morning.

OK, I think it's time to wrap up this FOTW thread (which has overrun by a couple of weeks in any case).
We've done this once before, but we'll decide the winner in democratic style.
Everyone gets one and one vote only. You can't split your vote: it has to be for one person / organisation only.
And so the voting threads don't get confused with any ongoing discussion, your vote thread should read simply e.g.
VOTE: The BSPA.
Closing date for votes is midnight on Monday night.

I've been in such a good mood lately that no-one's managed to annoy me enough to get a vote. Mind you, it's only mid-day, so there's still time yet. I can't see your leopard either, genghis, but it does disappear then reappear from time to time. Is it a magic leopard?

As much as I liked your suggested avatar for me, I think I'm keeping my Cheetah for a while yet. ;D Meanwhile, I'm still trying to think of something new for my sig, so Balinski is still there at the moment.

I'll go with Wacks' suggestion.
I work for the god-forsaken crap hole and I would admit that all my dealings with our Insurance area have been appalling!
Most of the problem is caused by too much of it being outsourced or simply a Nationwide badge on another company's product.
