While the argument rages around the inclusion of the global superstar in the Coventry team, the club have announced a couple of other changes. Joel Parsons is dropped as a "doubling up" rider in favour of Sheffield team mate and Coventry asset Joshua Auty. Stoke's Klaus Jakobsen replaces Auty as Coventry's No 8 and will no doubt be revealed as a Coventry asset in due course. Here's the Coventry spin: www.coventrymotorspeedway.com/news.php?extend.846Shovvy is promising us all that today is D Day, he has an informant in the 'west midlands' (apparently)advising him that Ippo are going to be awarded all three points.........Should do Nicholls confidence the world of good. I'll believe that when I see it TBH. At worst they will just remove Scott's points and still have won the meeting, which they would have done without Scott beling in the team. from....pissed off speedway fan

I can't believe that anyone believes a word Shovlar posts........history suggests that he's misinformed at best. Oh I'm not so sure anymore Kev. Shovlar was asking questions about Frampton's average conveniently just before the Nicholls signing was announced. He's getting info from somewhere, although claims it not to be from Matt Ford, but I'm not so sure about that, who else would think it a good idea to feed the forum foghorn leghorn inside information knowing it's going to be used to whip some people up into a frenzy?

From the BSPA:
COVENTRY’S joint team manager Peter Oakes has revealed how injured duo Ben Barker and Oliver Allen are on the comeback trail.
Oakes has confirmed both riders, who suffered leg injuries, are set for practice sessions within the next few days.
He said: “It’s great news to see them both progressing so quickly and when they’re declared fit we’ll have an embarrassment of riches with so many fit riders.”

Coventry re-declare:
Wednesday 22 July 2009 MARTIN Smolinski will return to the Buildbase Bees team for Friday's Brandon clash with Poole (8pm).
The popular German, a member of the 2005 and 2007 title-winning sides, comes in as the club once again find themselves covering for injured riders.
Rory Schlein crashed out of the home win over Ipswich a fortnight ago, suffering a broken collarbone and wrist, finger and knee injuries, and now the injury list has been added to by Jordan Frampton.
Frampton crashed in his first ride at Wolverhampton on Monday and is now set to be on the sidelines for a month with a broken scaphoid and medial bone in his wrist.
On a more positive note, Ben Barker is fit to resume his place in the side after three months out with a broken leg, and he will face the Pirates on Friday.
The introduction of Smolinski and Barker into the Bees' team declaration, plus Frampton's injury, means they will not currently be using the doubling-up facility.
This situation will be re-assessed on a regular basis as they maintain contact with the injured riders, and also when the August Green Sheet averages come into force - but the club felt it was vital they took action ahead of two home matches in four days, including a potentially crucial clash with Lakeside on Monday.
Promoter Colin Pratt said: "It's not ideal to have to continue re-declaring the team time and time again, but when you suffer from so many major injuries in one season, there's not a lot else you can do.
"Martin is coming in to help us out whilst Rory is missing, as we saw with Scott (Nicholls) earlier in the season, and of course it's good to welcome Ben back. It's not going to be easy for him after three months out, but hopefully being at reserve will make it a bit easier for him."
Poole arrive at Brandon in their best form of their season, having moved off the bottom of the table with a comfortable win over Peterborough on Wednesday.
Former Bees rider Hans Andersen is back at No.1 for the Pirates having recovered from injury, and a strong top-three is completed by fellow star names Chris Holder and Bjarne Pedersen.
BUILDBASE BEES: Chris Harris, Filip Sitera, Olly Allen, Edward Kennett, Martin Smolinski, Ben Barker, Ricky Wells.
POOLE: Hans Andersen, Joe Screen, Daniel Davidsson, Bjarne Pedersen, Chris Holder, Ben Wilson, Steve Boxall

No news on Coventry's website, but apparently Olly Allen injured his shoulder in Sweden last night.

Don't think it's anything too serious - he took a knock, but chose to sit out of tonight's Allsvenskan meeting. Sounds like just a bit of bruising, and I'm sure Coventry would have reported it had it been worse.

COVENTRY have brought Jordan Frampton and Josh Auty back into their squad as replacements for Filip Sitera.
Both riders will share a team place under the doubling-up rule after appearing for the Bees earlier in the season.
Bees boss Colin Pratt said: "We decided the time was right to change things around as we make plans for some important matches next month. It’s a shame for Filip.”
