We're now in the deep, dark days of winter and so we continue with fortnightly flapperjacks. The last winners were Paul Bellamy & BSI for their strange choice of wildcards for the 2009 GP series, as selected by the Old Mongol. I think it's about time we had another winner picked by our weird Ippo lot. I'll leave them to fight it out amongst then who picks the winner in a fortnight.

And is Subedei's selection, confirmation that he accepts Nicholls has never actually done anything wrong and is simply an innocent pawn in the BSI's game ?

Surely the selection of Harris was much more unjust, as Nicholls finished 9th and Harris 13th in 2008 series. Harris finished one place BEHIND Niels-Kristian Iversen, despite the fact that Iversen rode much of the latter part of the season carrying a nasty injury, and yet Harris gets back into the series and Iversen doesn't. I don't really mind Nicholls being in the GP series next year (in fact, if it was a factor in him quitting British Speedway, I'm glad he was given a place), however I would object to him being in the British Final. In fact, to the point where I think I will not attend the British Final in 2009 if Scott Nicholls is present in the line-up.

My 'unjust' comment Genghis refers to the fact that the GP's appear to have a degree of 'national quotas', whereby it has been decided Britain will have two representatives regardless of how poor they are, same goes for Sweden and i've no doubt Denmark and Poland, of course a similar system operates in football world cups. As for your non attendance at the British championship if Nicholls rides, i have not been since it was held at Eastbourne and am not planning to go next season but i'll send them double the entrance fee as a gift if he rides.

I would like to nominate Matt Ford and Giles Hartwell. They are to be applauded for trying to enter a team in the new National League, but to call it Bournemouth is quite ridiculous.

I would like to nominate anyone who has already started to celebrate Christmas. It's November the 30th, for fuck's sake.

Hatcham - and what are your thoughts on celebrating Christmas too early? Sorry, but I'm a "grumpy old man" when it comes to the premature celebration of Christmas. It won't feel like Christmans to me until I stop working at 12 noon on December 24. For me, the festive period lasts just over a week, not half the bloody year.

Mixed Genghis, i am not religious and have little interest in christmas except for the fact that it excites my children, but Mrs Hatcham is so particular with her decorating it would seem a waste of time to not have her trees up for a few weeks at least, suffice it to say though if i was single i would have no decorations and not even keep christmas cards,i would open them, think 'thats nice' and stick them straight in the bin.

My Christmas cards do go up on the wall, but are put in the recycling early in the new year.

In relation to Christmas I would like to nominate Sainsburys for placing a prime time tv advert at 9pm last night that stated they would be offering 15% VAT on Christmas decorations before the new VAT figure comes into effect as an incentive...... erm, that'll be when you open tomorrow then.... dolts ;D
