I'll second that with no hesitation. Some idiots give all KL fans a bad name, most probably cos they can't see thro their brown smeared specs, SL - I think Kev was referring to some of the Mildenhall fans, especially those responsible for snubbing the Chapmans and not inviting them to the end-of-season do.

The Chapmans have got to come into the reckoning after the way they've dumped Mildenhall, and to be fair, some fans of the club should also be included in this nomination. Can I have an update on this please?? What has happened??

Ah, trust me to get the wrong end of the stick In that case I nominate certain Lynn fans for being so far up the backsides of the Chapmans that they can't see straight. Fast enough to defend them but disappear at the first sign of bad news

The Chapmans have got to come into the reckoning after the way they've dumped Mildenhall, and to be fair, some fans of the club should also be included in this nomination. Can I have an update on this please?? What has happened?? ::)Anyone would think you been living in the Czech Republic recently. Just for you Badger, here is Jonathan Chapmans Press Release:- Only three months after saving Mildenhall Speedway from closing it’s doors, promotion duo of Keith and Jonathan Chapman they have decided to put the club up for sale. They have been contemplating their future ever since they were excluded from the official supporters party of their new club and were never informed of a noise abatement notice that had been issued by the council.
Keith Chapman said, ‘Contrary to some reports which have said we had ulterior motives for buying the club, we simply saved the club because our heart is in the sport. It is a shame that since then what has happened has left us unsettled and unhappy to commit anymore time or energy into the project, in all honesty we would never have bought the club if we had of known about the noise problem from the beginning. I suppose we are used to being in control of own destiny like we have been at King’s Lynn for the past 12 years and will be at Leicester in the future, we are good promoters and it is a shame a few people tried to take us as fools. The good news for the fans is that the club is now free of any debts, the stadium owner and the council have said that the sound deflection work will be completed in time and the club is now in a good position to carry on it’s future in the National League, a league which will be affordable and entertaining’.
Jonathan Chapman went on to stress ‘The three meetings we run at Mildenhall at the end of the season we enjoyed and most of the fans and volunteers were great and bent over backwards to help us, it’s just what has gone on behind the scenes has been distasteful and makes it hard for us to want to carry on, we are positive a buyer will be found by the end of January and the club will have a successful 2009 campaign.’

Thanks Kev, poor old Mildy Don't know why I am surprised really, some of my c0-workers at Ipswich, were given the big heave ho by the Chapman's from assisting at Mildy for the 3 meetings they ran, fancy "assett stripping" like that....I'm assuming that's what they bought it for, to get the riders like Graversen and our lovely Schrammy.

I'll 3rd Kev's nomination.
It must be gut wrenching for the true Mildy fans who seem to have been given a false sense of hope about their clubs future.

Allen Trump and the Chapmans are amongst the more honourable promoters in the sport Just when you think B & J Chapman have got the award wrapped up, our very own Genghis comes along with a post like this. I remember when he was saying the same about Colin Horton, as I'm sure Wacks does!! ;D Genghis................ will you never learn? ;D

It's no good trying to get on her right side now, the damage is done and I think I can speak for the rest of us when I say pooh to you with knobs on! ;D Aside from that, Eddie Kennett for not wanting to ride for Panthers, what a total knob

I remember when he was saying the same about Colin Horton, as I'm sure Wacks does!! ;D Genghis................ will you never learn? ;D I have learnt and that is the key. Certain promoters are complete bastards, and should be avoided at all costs. But others are OK, and yes I do include Buster Chapman in this category - both he and his wife Cheryl are very nice people. And they have built King's Lynn back up from nothing and done a fine job there. That should be admired. Like everyone, the Chapmans have got their critics, but I've noticed a lot of the criticism on the BSF towards them is simply petty jealousy towards their success in recent seasons. Unfortunately, the real villians of this piece seem to be certain Mildenhall "fans" who have deliberately stirred up trouble behind the scenes. I do wish that the Chapmans would have come into Oxford at the start of the 2006 season, as they wanted to. In the meantine, I'm glad that although I consider myself a bit of a cynic, I'm nowhere near as cynical as some others on this forum.

Chipmunk is a 'My Way or the Highway' type of guy. He'd upset you are so many other hard-working officials at the club, that you'd probably end up not going to Oxford any more. He has few friends in the sport and even the riders in his own team think he's a prick.
