Didn't Andy Smith end up Polish and still riding in the British Final? Smith definately rode on a Polish licence, but not sure if he rode in a British Final during that time. Smith's career has spanned 1982-2006 in the UK, and the only year he didn't feature in the BL during that period was 2002, so I guess '02 is the year Rico is remembering. I thought Smith had gone the whole hog and got himself a Polish passport - didn't he last ride in the British final in 2006? Is Richardson riding here or is he fucking off aswell ? It seems to be all quiet on the Richardson front, but I think it's safe to say it's the "as well" option.

So, I guess the question is - did Smith ride in the British Championships in 2002 ?
As for Richardson - clearly he's slipping out under the radar and not creating as much of a fuss as Scott.

Rico I guess it's because not many people really rated or liked Richardson, so fewer people care what he does.

Lets hope Mimi or Sussexbulldog have Brundle's number then because we may need him for the world cup squad.

I like Lee Richardson, although, like a few other riders, it's usually until he's interviewed. Which is one of the reasons I don't have the sound up when I watch speedway online.

Lee Richardson can bugger off as well. His attitude towards other riders is appalling - how many times has he failed to turn up at fellow rider's testimonial meetings after promising to go. He's like the anti-Johno.

We should put out the youngsters. Yes, we'll get bloody mauled, but it could pay dividends in the years to come. The Danes did the same and look where they are now. So my World Cup squad would be something along the lines of: Chris Harris Edward Kennett Tai Woffinden Lewis Bridger Ben Barker Danny King William Lawson Adam Roynon EDITED because I forgot Danny King

Who actually remains in the Genghis world cup squad/ British championship ? Well, being realistic, it's not as if Britain stands any chance of winning the SWC and only having a round staged in this country gives any hope of reaching the final. And I'd imagine the draw will be rigged to give Britain a chance, with Poland and Sweden set for the British round, while the Danes and Australians do battle at Vojens.

Qualifying round in Slovenia in 2010 then Rob?? If neccessary, yes. It'll all be good experience for our young riders in the years to come. What is the point in putting out the likes of Nicholls, Richardson & Stead - they're not going to get any better, are they? We might as well blood the youngsters. And at least they will put in 100% effort, something lacking from Nicholls & Richardson in last year's competition. The youngsters will wear the racejacket with a little pride. But if Mark Loram made a comeback, he'd go straight into my squad, maybe even as manager/rider. Loram is a different class to our current "top" riders. And he had a real pride in riding for his country.

And you think William Lawson will get any better ? In fact add Chris Harris to that his golden year was 2007
